I feel like me and the Geranium pattern are best buds. We’ve been through it all….cap sleeves, flutter, color blocking, many, many, dresses, hacking a circle skirt, Princess Bride costumes, Anna costume, tops, baby gifts…you name it almost, I’ve made it with the help of my trusty favorite dress pattern EVER.
It’s been my go to ever since Ava was a BABY!
So when I got the email about the expansion pack, and would I like to play with it….UH YES SIGN ME UP!
I was so excited! (AM! AM SO EXCITED!) It’s got soo much good stuff! So many options!
Sleeves-check. (multiple lengths too, fitted and gathered!)
ADORABLE peter pan collar-check. (also next on my list)
Sash-check.
Extended bodice-check.
I feel like it’s an especially well rounded pattern now-I always reached for it when I needed to hack a simple dress pattern, and now Rae has done all the work for ya.
Thanks Rae, you’re a dear!
So let’s talk about the dress I made! I’ve had this buffalo check shirting burning a hole on my shelf for awhile, so I finally used it!
I made a 5t size, which was perfect for Ava, who is measuring a size ahead for the past two years. Length was great! I put in the 3/4 length sleeve, but ended up chopping 1 1/2″ off the length to bring it to her elbows.
I also added the bow obvs and it was super simple to sew up! and SO GOSH DANG adorable!
I stuck with the OG button closure in back cuz I can basically put those together in ma sleep.
and mama was tired when she made this.
I have a feeling it’s going to be in heavy rotation because even with the longer sleeves, it’s really lightweight and will be great for the warmer months coming!
Three cheers for the new Geranium pack!
HIP HIP HOORAY!
She’s so cute! I love the buffalo plaid. Totally thought of you when I saw the email announcing the Geranium expansion pack!
thanks!!
