KCWC: lace and magenta top

I thrifted this super soft tee and refashioned it into this layered lacy top...you maybe can't tell, but the lace is layered with strips of fabric cut from the sleeves of the original tee. I have to rework the neck a bit but besides that it came together fairly quickly! Just another fall basic...I think that's why I love KCWC so much, it forces me … [Read more...]

KCWC: teal bow leggings

I whipped up another pair of leggings using a thrifted sweater for the baby...and they ended up fitting Charlotte. haha....I have sizing issues sometimes, can you tell? Nobody's perfect. Anyways...I added some quick little bows at the ankles for a touch of cuteness. I love adding little details like that...I just have to remember to do it. ;) I … [Read more...]

KCWC: baby circle skirts

More KCWC clothes!! (I've got more coming, too...I may (a teensy bit) be going through my nesting phase....)I also whipped up some teeny tiny baby circle skirts yesterday....These took hardly any time at all. The only thing that slowed me down was a power outage. In the middle of hemming. In the afternoon. ??? Whatevs at least it only lasted an … [Read more...]

KCWC: grey polka dot top

I really love how this top turned out! So hipster-ish. I made it with some of this huge bolt of grey fabric that I got a long time ago, and was glad to use some of it up. I used fabric paint for the dots and one of those foam dot brushes...just eyeballed the distances between dots. Added some bands around the sleeves and bottom to keep it fitted, … [Read more...]

KCWC: little vintage dress

This bodice design has been on my mind for like...ever. (and a day) So finally I gave it a go! I love how it turned out, and now I want to make another for Sadie with striped fabric, how fun, right? I may (emphasis on the may) even attempt this as a pattern to sell. Hold the phone, folks. We'll see how I feel after this next little one makes her … [Read more...]

KCWC: leggings and raglan top

I actually started a little early on KCWC-on Saturday a good friend came over to learn how to make leggings for her little girl, and after we made a pair with this heart fabric I had to make some of my own with the leftover fabric.  (once you've made a few they don't take much time at all...or assembly line them out! p.s. thanks Greta for the … [Read more...]

easy and quick leggings-tutorial

I couldn't help it....I got a bit of a jump start on the Kids Clothes Week Challenge....I just HAD to make some baby leggings yesterday...don't know why really....maybe I'm nesting? I am down to 5 weeks til d-day. (delivery day...ok give or take a few days or weeks)5 WEEKS people! I at least threw the 0-3 month clothes in the wash yesterday so … [Read more...]

bento lunches round 2

More bento lunch fun! I made this hot air balloon lunch for a day when we were just at home-I had a feeling it wouldn't travel well. That poor doggy would probably end up hanging on to a "cloud" for dear life or something. Obviously I was inspired by my nursery mobile! :) I made a jam sandwich with some fruit leather accents and a graham cracker … [Read more...]

new Junebug dress for Sadie

I usually don't enjoy sewing the same things over and over again (hence my old Etsy shop going kaput)....but Sadie really "needed" a dress this past week. Like I need a hole in my foot,  but whatever. Most of the dresses I've made her over the past few months she doesn't like anymore. So I've learned to make sure fabric is ok with her highness … [Read more...]

Disneyland, attempted robbery, and a teensy bit of sewing.

We spent half of last week in Disneyland! woot! We love that place, too much sometimes....we had an awesome family reunion with my family and I think everyone had a blast! Even I did, hauling around my 33 week belly in 90+ degree weather and 100 million percent humidity. (or so it seemed) The girls of course loved their favorite rides...Small … [Read more...]
