mo shirts

Am I boring you? By sewing too much? Cause if I am...oh well. My blog, my life! well, this picture is pretty self explanatory, I made another shirt today, and it went much smoother this time, I was able to make it faster (although it's not hemmed), and didn't waste time on the directions! (much) I LOOVE this fabric. Isn't it adorable? now my baby … [Read more...]

My first shirt

I cut it out and sewed most of it last night, until the sleeves stopped me in my tracks. I've never put sleeves on in my life. Luckily, my mom who is an experienced seamstress (who does offer lessons!), is only a mile and a phone call away. I went over there during Sadie's morning nap and she showed me a VERY easy way to put in sleeves. The pattern … [Read more...]

Could it be ANY easier to dress up a plain jane tee? I found this idea here at this awesome blog and just had to try it out. Plus, it's great to use up those tiny scraps that you just can't part with...which is something of a trend here lately. Sadie figured out how to sit down after standing at her play table today! So exciting, and she wanted to … [Read more...]

New clothsies

Made this dress during naps today...the pattern wasn't too hard, I even put in a zipper all by myself! Yay! (Mom, are you so proud?) Joanna is sitting here reading over my shoulder and says I sound like a five year old...but I'm the one writing this post. If she wants to write, she should go on her own blog. haha. We're trying on bridesmaids … [Read more...]

New skirt

New skirt=new pictures, of course.I used this tutorial...although it's a little self explanatory. It's a little short for Sadie but looks fine for now and as long as she "sags" her skirt. lol. I just LOVE how she crosses her feet when she's sitting. It's oh so fancy, and cute. She was all stoic and solemn for me. It's hard to make a baby smile … [Read more...]

Picture #1: Plants and etc for the front yard. Star Jasmine, Boxwood plants, rosemary, gardenias, rock, iberis, grass, and two other plants I don't remember. Most of these are chosen for looks. I don't know a thing about gardening! I did buy some pink gardening tools the other week though. So cute! haha.Picture #2: A new dress for Sadie...with … [Read more...]

latest sewing project…

Here's what I've been working on the past few nights! My mom came over last night and helped me figure out the zipper...man is that some crazy sewing. I also pinned down every. single. gather. on that skirt. I've been hoarding a growing stash of fabric for dresses for Sadie, so I figured I should break it out and get sewing. I have more patterns, … [Read more...]

New outfit!

I made this cute little skirt and onesie set for Sadie today! Simple and easy... Tomorrow we're going to one of those photo places to get some of those cheesy posed baby photos...I'm so excited! My mom is going to go with us to help out with the smiling and such. We're also getting ready for our trip down to Disneyland later this week. We're also … [Read more...]

NEW and improved pantalones

This round of pant-making went much quicker. Cut out and sewn in about 15 minutes. Of course, there are only 5 seams. lol. Hopefully the more ahem, generous cut of the bottom area will fit my little darling better. Too bad she's not awake to try them on cause I want to make more! oh well. I will have to wait til tomorrow to cut up more of Rory's … [Read more...]

Practice makes pants

Today Sadie took a LOONG afternoon nap (thank the heavens!) so, in a random fit of sewing I decided to try this tutorial for baby "yoga" pants you make from old tshirts! (obviously she's not actually going to do yoga in them, although that would be awesome) Cool, no? So I thought. It actually was very easy-only took me about one maybe one and a … [Read more...]
