the seaweed is always greener…

So first off...thank you SO much for your sweet words on Tuesday's post. I appreciate them so much! And look-I sewed something! Ok it's not ground breaking...just a little outfit for Sadie's under the sea party this weekend! (she's really excited about turning four can you tell!?) I sewed up a quick elastic waisted skirt and added a ruffled tube … [Read more...]

cross stitch fabric skirt

So this skirt is just your run of the mill elastic waistband skirt-but the fabric! Guys...you gotta take a closer look....it's made to look like a cross stitch pattern! Fabulous, right? I found this skirt at a thrift store, only it was a teeny bopper size with black elastic at the top...and quite scandalously short even for the shortest of teeny … [Read more...]

KCWC-lime green trees

I'm up to my eyeballs in party prep for Miss C's cowgirl party this weekend-cannot wait for this party to come together!Oh boy-this is such a tardy post! I made this for Kids Clothes Week back in April! Somehow forgot to post it, so here it is! Pleat Week guest post: pleated ombre skirt

I feel like such a rebel! Posting about pleats during Ruffle-mania...lol! But when Kate asks for pleats-you give her pleats. ;) I saw a similar dress once and I've always wanted to try big pleats, with 2 different fabrics-so this was a good project to knock a few things off my sewing to do list. Ruffles are represented in her shirt, lol!I … [Read more...]

mustard yellow circle skirt

Back around Christmas time (in between Christmas and New Years) we were all sick with the flu. :( This is the one thing I was able to sew that week, and only because it was SO easy. I used Dana's tutorial, which is great. I've used it before, but only for the girls. I love how it drapes! I think it was a rayon knit from Fabric.com, but I can't … [Read more...]

L-O-V-E tee, and easy tiered skirt-tutorial

There's nothing sweeter than some adorably squishy girls dressed in pink, is there?  I just LOVE (yes I went there) how these love tees came out, too. They are based on the sculpture, and I just traced a picture of it and used that to make my appliques. Can't wait for our Valentine's Day party to whip these cuties out! (oh, and the outfits … [Read more...]

adding pintucks (pleats) to a skirt

It's fun to add the little details while sewing-a tuck here, a pleat there...it usually adds up to even more adorableness. This fabric didn't lend itself the best to the tucks...but that's ok-Sadie still loved it! Fabric is Purple Dot, So Sophie line, by Riley Blake, from my sponsor, Ribbon Retreat! So, after you've hemmed your skirt.......Fold … [Read more...]

Day three of the Kids Clothes Week Challenge-made this little skirt and top outfit-I wanted some fall basics she could mix and match with other pieces. (most of the time her choice is a dress....)
