So first off…thank you SO much for your sweet words on Tuesday’s post. I appreciate them so much!
And look-I sewed something! Ok it’s not ground breaking…just a little outfit for Sadie’s under the sea party this weekend! (she’s really excited about turning four can you tell!?)
I sewed up a quick elastic waisted skirt and added a ruffled tube of fabric along the bottom. Fabric is Dot in Aqua – from Bonnie & Camille. I got it awhile ago from Lily Bella Fabrics, looks like they don’t have it anymore though.
On the tee I appliqued a simple seashell, and then embroidered the lines on like so…it was quite relaxing, and the hubs and I caught up on some Olympics-I am loving beach volleyball! And gymnastics of course…I did gymnastics when I was younger for about 10 years so I have a special place in my heart for those girls.
We’ve been busy making other decorations and goodies for the party. Yes I said we! It’s so fun to have an eager little helper when I get crafty, especially since it’s for her party, she loves that!
She helped me make these paper bowl and ribbon jellyfish.
Ok so she mostly watched me make the chocolate seashells.
…and seahorse lollies! Sadie did request pink seahorses. They are strawberry flavored too! I finally tried these flavor oils I bought earlier in the year.
Also a quick Happy Birthday banner…I can’t wait for this party! Although it looks like it’s going to be another scorcher…sad face. Let’s hope it’s not 104 at least, like Miss C’s cowgirl party was. UGH. I’m planning on having a blow up pool for the kids to play in so at least we’ll have that to look forward to! I’m not above wading in myself, belly and all. 😉

Love it! My Lily is turning 4 in November- she wants a pirate party, so we’ll be doing some of the under-the-sea things, too. I’ll love to see how everything comes together.

Oh, 4 year olds are the best! Seriously–mine turned four in April and I can’t believe the difference from age 3! 🙂 I can’t wait to see the party details–your parties are seriously amazing. And happy anniversary–9 years is definitely something to celebrate! 🙂

Happy Anniversary Jess! Just got caught up on your last post and it must be contagious. I’ve been having these same thoughts for a few months now. Totally get the guest post blues…I recently missed a trip to the beach with my kids because I had to get one done. Not smart! I’ve scaled way back and it feels great. Hugs girl!

I was happy to read your post today. You seem like you’re in a much better place, much more relaxed. I’m 6 month pregnant too, and I know how exhausting the third trimester is. But tell you what, whenever the house is a mess and you can’t clean it, dinner is not cooked, and your flipping back and forth between laughter and tears, just blame it all on the hormones. =:>

Adorable party….and I love that you are also making time for YOU!!! I am a quilting teacher and have LOTS of young mom’s in my class ( their night out and sanity saver). But I always preach ( in my older and wiser status) that it is easy to shake your head NO as well as YES!!! I think you are the generation of trying to do it all. Of course I am GRATEFUL that you do….have used your tutorials a million times!! But good for you that you can shake your head NO too. Hugs to you and sorry if I came across preachy.
