Sadie’s new-ish room

Well you guys saw that I finally finished Sadie’s quilt…phew! Since she’s had a big girl bed for quite some time, and was still using her little toddler quilts (which covered her up fine, just looked funny on that big ol bed), it was about time to finish it and get it on that bed. Also I spruced up her room a little bit-nothing big, just a few pieces of art, some new curtains, etc.ย  You can see how it used to look here.

Love this pile of almost all mama-made softies! (Minnie Mouse is from Disneyland circa 2009, Robot blogged here, Mermaid made by me but I can’t find the post!, Owl blogged here, elephant butt poking out, pattern here.ย  French girl was won in a giveaway…The others are store bought)

I found these sweet little yarn pictures thrifting the other day and they were the perfect little accent to that little wall.

I got the rug at Ikea….and her little nightstand is chock full of my her Golden Books collection (over 80 and counting…love those books!)

We bought the bed from our neighbors for $75. They said they paid over $700 for it new. Sah-weet deal. It has a trundle for Charlotte, eventually.

You can see that lovely artwork on the wall, right? It has some of my favorite song lyrics on it, and I got it from my sponsor, 13 Pumpkins.

I’ve got to finish up the other side of her room before I get some pics of that. Soon!

  18. Jess, I have been following your blog for awhile, but am a terrible commenter. Someone should slap my hand!

I had to comment on your post though—cause that quilt is gorgeous and your little girl’s room is something to covet…and oh, ever so sweet is that tiny smiling face jumping on her big bed. Aren’t these fantastic years?

  19. I am loving your sweet little one’s room. The books displayed are divine! Way to encourage her imagination. ps I love the golden books too and swipe them up whenever I find the vintage stories while I’m thrifting. What patterns did you use for all her softies on her bed?? They are way adorable. You’re quilt is amazing as well, by the way!

  21. Hey gals, thanks so much for your sweet comments! I answered your questions about the softies up in the post!

  22. Awwww, cute stuff, Jess! And look how happy she is jumping all over your quilt…hehe. Man, this just goes to show that my little gal is a total softie hoarder – you can barely find her in her bed these days. Can’t wait to see the rest of the room! ๐Ÿ™‚

  23. Oh my word, I cannot believe how much this room reminds me of my daughter, Harper (2 1/2 years old). We too are collecting “little golden books” which I am obsessed with! -We go weekly to all of the local thrift stores and usually snag them for 25cents or so! I am in love with the sign above the book shelves and I am currently in the process of making my daughters quilt which happens to have little children from different cultures all over it and the french girl on the fabric reminds me of that cute softie. Can you provide a link to where you won it? I would love to have one to match her quilt ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you for posting your creativeness on a daily basis. I am fairly certain that I am your biggest blog stalker here ๐Ÿ˜‰

  24. I love everything about this sweet little room!!! Good job on the quilt, it’s beautiful.

  25. I love all of the mama lovins that went into her room! You have serious talent, and yes that bed was a serious steal of a deal!
