my sister’s coral, grey, and yellow wedding

So, my second littlest sister got married a few weeks ago. eeshk! So happy for her and her new hubby.

In unrelated news: I feel old.

It was a family affair, capturing this wedding. My uncle was the main photographer, my dad did the videography, and I wandered around taking pics until they told me to move. Well, ok really I was in charge of the detail shots…which are my favorites anyways, so I was having a blast!

They were married in the Oakland LDS Temple (find out more about our church and temples here if you’re interested), which has amazingly gorgeous grounds-perfect for bridal shots!

These two GLOWED. I can’t think of another word. So photogenic and in love. So sweet.

I made the bouquets for the bride and bridesmaids-I hafta say, flower arranging is fun! Loved it.

Basically my sis showed up with a meeellion flowers, stood back, and let me have at it.

Loved her coral shoes-Sadie has a pair that are almost exactly the same!

The reception was held at our church’s courtyard and was so, so lovely. Lots of hard work went into it, from my mom and sis (and I’ll take a little credit) in the planning stages, and then from the whole family when it became go time!

Thank ya very much, Pinterest, for this cute idea. I convinced her to do the fabric underneath…found locally.

The cake was made by a family friend-wow. My jaw dropped when I saw it all finished. Amaza-zing.

Those flowers are made of gum paste. YIKES. I told her next time she does a wedding cake with flowers I am coming to watch how she does it!

For favors, they had cute little jars of lemonade mix along with wooden spoons and adorable stickers that my sis designed. Fun and summery!

My dad made these awesome Mr. & Mrs. signs for the back of their chairs. Amazingness, right?

And they had some cute doilies and jars and straws all wrapped into some darn cute & adorable little drinks.

Twinkling lights strung up-so magical!

Oh, and also I got to MacGyver together a garter for my sister after she couldn’t find hers! It was awesome-grabbed a couple of chair ties, braided them together, found a random flower from the centerpieces in a bag, tracked down a safety pin-and TADA! insta-garter. ๐Ÿ˜€

So besides that, and the sprinklers coming on near the end of the reception (that will be the family story years down the road…also those are water spots in the picture above, lol!) it went really well and we all had a great time celebrating my sis and her new hubby!

  12. So beautiful! I severed my mission in Oakland and was at the temple visitor center so I loved seeing this. Lucky for me I met a boy from the Bay Area after that and 15 years later we get to go back to visit at least once a year. I love it there.
