KCWC: family reunion top and go to leggings

I kicked off Kids Clothes Week a little early and finished up this top on Sunday…then the leggings today! I had just enough left from making this top (from Girl Charlee: use the code Crafty10 for 10% off your purchase) to sew up the capri-length leggings. I used the Go To Leggings pattern (affiliate link) and I love it! The fit is just about perfect, and the way Andrea does her elastic waistbands is so professional-looking. I added some ruching on the bottom but apparently I suck at ruching so you can’t tell. merp.

The top I made using the Family Reunion pattern from Oliver and S. I say it every time, but I adore their patterns. They always fit perfectly, are classic with fun details, and you come out with a beautiful garment, inside and out. This one I have had cut out for awhile…(I was afraid of the pleats for some strange reason), but now that I finally made it I have no idea what had me so scared. (wuss!) I made this in some gorgeous aqua shot cotton, sorry no details I have no idea where I got it. :}

I LOVE the buttons down the back-so did Sadie. Buttons from Joanns I think.

Most of my sewing if not all this week is going to be for Sadie…that’s just how it goes, right? The oldest gets the new stuff most of the time…

  1. aw geez jess that’s just too cute! love the floral leggings with the shot cotton, too. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. This is TOO CUTE! Im going to have to keep the pattern for the dress on my list!

I just found girl charlee and i am sooo excited. I ordered a few presale items so i am still waiting but i already have plans in mind!

  3. Gorgeous outfit! That Family Reunion pattern is on my wish list. I don’t know why I struggle to order paper patterns. If it was available digitally, I’d buy it in a heartbeat.

  4. That top is so cute! Love the shot cotton. =)

  7. Very cute! I love how they coordinate, too. I am hoping to get to sew today!!

  8. Another luv-ly ensemble!!

  9. aw crap. I just bought a bunch of shot cotton and now I might have to copy this exactly. For some reason I’ve been afraid to sew with it. Is it shifty and wily? Or no problem at all?

  10. Love it!

  11. LOVE the top. I would rock that if it was my size ๐Ÿ™‚ In our house my youngest usually gets the outfits I make since my oldest wears a uniform to school. Maybe a summer wardrobe is in order.

  12. So, so beautiful! When you put shot cotton and aqua together, good things inevitably result:) What a lovely outfit.

  13. So stinkin’ adorable Jess!

  14. Adorable! I have seen these patterns for awhile and been a little tempted. But now it’s definitely on my list. So cute!

  15. I have 2 girls around Charlotte and Sadie’s ages and my eldest is getting all the sewing this KCW in preparation for starting school next term (here in New Zealand kids start school straight after turning 5)

  16. I adore it all! I pinned this and will be buying these patterns for sure!

  17. Both pieces are so sweet! Love this look!

  18. I love, love, love this top! It really is classic! I wish I could bring myself to spend that much on a pattern because I’m sure it would be worth it. Another beautiful outfit!

  19. Love the color combos as usual!

  20. Those buttons and pintucked neckline…sigh…love!
