aqua and orange geranium dress

I feel like it’s been forever, folks.

It really has. Sorry about that! I promise I’m not gone! I haven’t quit blogging!

It’s just this pregnancy took a serious hit on my sewing mojo. and energy. and errything else.

ha!

this boy is already SO different from the girls. But I have been sewing a little bit for him!

Check out my instagram for more frequent updates!

So I grabbed these fabrics and paired them together for my umpteenth Geranium dress.

I don’t have much energy for anything but simple dresses lately.

I Luuurve the aqua and orange together.

Shot cotton is gorgeous up close. (don’t know the exact color)

So soft and the “shot” (lol) of color is gorgeous throughout.

Patterned fabric.

Had to use some orange buttons for a fun pop of color! I made the dress in a size 5, lengthened the bodice about 1.5″,  and then added probably 3-4″ to the skirt to make it last longer.

It’s long at first but then she grows into her dresses better if I make them this way.

I added the flutter sleeves which I adore-they are so soft and feminine! Sadie loves her new dress, she is getting opinionated on the fabrics I use though-and I need to stock larger cuts of fabric in my stash-she is getting big and bigger dresses obvs need more fabric. #ohdarngottabuymorefabric

  1. I love everything about this! May have to get this pattern this spring 😍 I tend to knit in the winter and sew the rest of the year and I LOVE your Junebug pattern!
I felt the same way with my pregnancies! I suspected I was having a girl the second time simply because it ews such a different pregnancy!

    • thanks! I definitely has my suspicions from the get go that it was a boy-everything was different! I was sicker sooner and longer, carrying low….all different from my girls!

  2. Beautiful! Did you lengthen the bodice? It looks longer than my daughter’s size 5 Geranium. I just finished a new dress this week, and it fits perfectly. Unfortunately, that means she’ll be outgrowing my pattern by the end of the summer. I just can’t decided whether or not to buy the bigger sized pattern, even though I’ve sewn more than a dozen NB-5T Geraniums.

  3. That blue is fantastic with Sadie’s hair! And I love the orange buttons. =) Babies can really do a number on blogging and sewing! 😉

  4. love this color combo!

  5. The dress looks lovely, it definitely a great colour combo! I love it on my daughter who has strawberry blonde hair ♥

  6. I accidentally lengthened my last geranium. My daughter loves the longer length. She keeps saying how special it is. I love that it will last longer. Happy accident! I love the pleates! Such a wonderful dress!

  7. So pretty-and love your photos. Pure joy and happiness. <3

  8. Good to see a post from you! I always love reading your blog, but Baby definitely comes first — make sure you get the rest you need!!

Such a pretty dress. I would love to make a Geranium just like that for my 2-year-old daughter.

  9. Yay love the Geranium (Sadie is looking so big!) and love seeing a post from you too! We’re all working on getting back in the habit of blogging after a collective break, eh? 😉

  10. Looks really lovely! I love everything about it, the colour, the style. Very nice :)
