One of my favorite things about sewing is attempting to recreate clothing I see online or in stores. There is so much inspiration out there! So when I pinned this adorable dress, I knew it wouldn't be long before I made one! The feminine ruffles are adorable. This one's named after my adorable niece Coraline! :) Sadie refused to take it off … [Read more...]
L-O-V-E tee, and easy tiered skirt-tutorial
There's nothing sweeter than some adorably squishy girls dressed in pink, is there? I just LOVE (yes I went there) how these love tees came out, too. They are based on the sculpture, and I just traced a picture of it and used that to make my appliques. Can't wait for our Valentine's Day party to whip these cuties out! (oh, and the outfits … [Read more...]
gorsh, another peasant dress?
I know, I tend to make these alot-but they're so easy and cute! Plus they make great play dresses, which Sadie wants to wear most days. When she's not sporting the stripes-on-stripes look, that is. (which is a good look, should document that sometime...har har) I used my favorite peasant top/dress pattern, (lengthening the dress and sleeves) and … [Read more...]
the Evelyn top-a tutorial
I made this top the other day for Sadie...and it ended up fitting Charlotte! lol. Most of the time it's the other way around. (I tend to make things bigger than they need to be, I am constantly and irrationally scared that things will be too small when making stuff for C)I named it after my newest baby niece, Evelyn. She is adorable, and a sweetie … [Read more...]
S’s Christmas dress
So yes, the girls dresses are a lot alike this year. They are both also pretty simple. I had no brain functionality to get anything else done, forgive me. Hopefully my clothing design part of the brain switches back on after the new year! Sadie's dress has a simple pleated bow around the neckline. She really likes this dress-I pretty much … [Read more...]
C’s Christmas dress
***Check out the winner of the Modern Fabric giveaway here!*** Ready for some chubby legged (and cheeked) Charlotte goodness? OH, and her Christmas dress. Yes, I got it done, and although it's fairly simple, I love how it turned out! I really wanted to use red fabric this year, since I'd done green all the other years. (all 2 of them har … [Read more...]

the katy dress tutorial
I feel a little like I've lost my focus lately on the blog...like I need to churn out tons of kiddo clothes to be a good blogger. Not entirely true, but still, kids clothes are my favorite thing to make, and I felt like I was getting out of that habit. (plus, the kids REALLY need some fall/winter stuff) So I set a goal yesterday to make something … [Read more...]
Sadie’s new (future) coat
I made a coat for Sadie yesterday. (she doesn't look too happy about it, huh?...you'll see)It was muy, muy grande.I cut out the 3T/4T size, and I guess my petite gal is not quite there yet. Look at her though....she's so forlorn, mourning her coat-she-cannot-wear-yet. However there are some silver linings.1. It will fit next year....(hopefully)2. I … [Read more...]
KCWC-Sadie’s Abbey jacket
My semi-last minute contribution to KCWC was this Abbey jacket for Sadie. Adorbs, right? I made it with this pattern, which was great! I used charcoal grey fleece from Joanns (hope it doesn't pill too much), and a napkin for the lining. Yes, a napkin. A girl's gotta get fabric wherever she can!I got it in Utah in May, since it was such a cute print … [Read more...]
