a cute and colorful girls handmade summer wardrobe

ย handmade-kids-summer-wardrobe

I’ve been a busy little sewing bee!

You saw the beginning of Ava’s summer wardrobe here, and I instantly began cutting out more tees, shorts, and capris!

Patterns:

Bateau Neck Top

MADE shorts

Go To Leggings

Nessie top

Knit fabric is from Girl Charlee, chambray and linens from various sources.

I wanted all the things I sewed to go with as many tops/bottoms as possible…so I went with an aqua, coral, yellow, chambray, B&W theme.

I didn’t get as many pics of this top with others for the collage up top, but the graphic punch of this fabric makes it one of my favorites!

But these mint linen shorts are just as cute, amiright?

these coral stripes surprisingly go with most if not all of the bottoms!

These fun floral capris don’t go with much, but they were TOO FUN to not make. You know that kind of fabric.

  1. Haha, the little hair twirl at the end! So cute!
I love that gingham! And I love how everything coordinates.

  2. I adore the clothing! Your girl makes an adorable model!

  3. You have the best dressed girls in the world.

  4. I love that you put a colour theme to the whole collection! Very smart. Makes all of the things work together so well. And everything is just so pretty!

  5. Fantastic! What a well dressed little cutie! No surprises with that colour scheme ๐Ÿ™‚ but hey, it works so well, why go changing!

  6. I love all of these. I bought the MADE shorts 2 years ago and have made so many pairs. I find that I need to go up several sizes, though. I need to get these top patterns. Your daughters will be the best dressed around!

  7. So adorable , comfy and perfect for a child to Actually wear on a daily basis! You have inspired me to plan what I sew more.Nothing I sew Gigi ever seems to match anything else!

    • I’ve been trying to sew more neutrals or solids lately even though they are boring they go with more!

  8. What an awesome and fun summer wardrobe! I love how you coordinated colors so she can mix and match easily. I take my girls to joanns every spring and they pick out all sorts of fabric for skirts and shorts. I’m still intimidated to sew tops. ๐Ÿ™‚ Loved this post and your sweet Ava girl! Thanks for the inspiration!!

  9. You amaze me! It’s all so good! And you always pick the best fabrics!

This is so smart. Whether buying or sewing, I always end up with a bunch of super cute little tops that do not match a bunch of super cute little bottoms. Luckily (I guess), my little one doesn’t care about matching. Or, rather, has a very interesting idea of what matches….

  11. Funny… I did this too a couple weeks ago. Massive amounts of Nessie tops with MADE shorts for my 2 girls. They are so adorable. I seriously love the Nessie pattern.

Can you please me MY mom and make me all those cute clothes in my size?!? ๐Ÿ˜‰ LOVE!!!

  13. Such an adorable wardrobe!!! You do a fantastic job of planning and coordinating. I lay out tacks of tops/bottoms but they don’t interchange very well… I must be a schizophrenic fabric shopper.

    • I usually am all over the place too, this is one of the first times I planned things out to coordinate!

  14. I just love this! Your little girl is so cute, she reminds me of my younger daughter at that age. It is too bad that my kids are already all grown up:( and it is way to early for grandkids. I guess, I will live vicariously through yours until than ๐Ÿ˜‰ Bea

  15. What I great little collection – I’m jealous (both of your sewing skill, and the stylish wardrobe!)

  16. My word! You have been busy. Amazing! I think I ‘need’ that fabric with the black squares.

  17. You are amazing! What a hero.

  18. Oh, I am inspired!! I love your palette and silhouettes. Those short are too stinkin cute! Thanks for the wonderful fun! Jen http://www.satsumadesigns.com

  19. Very cute! I was inspired and went to Girl Charlie to purchase knits, but was overwhelmed (I didn’t know there are so many types of knits!). What type do you use for tops? leggings? Thanks!

    • I’ve used it all, for everything! I generally steer clear of the very lightweight knits since those are fussy to sew with.

  20. This is just too cute!! She definitely looks ready for Summer ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for the link back, Jess!

  21. I love your style! I’m always impressed by how comfy, cool and CUTE your girls look (they’re so cute to begin with of course but the clothes you make them crank it up another notch ๐Ÿ™‚ )
