little shelves

Rory helped me make these shelves last weekend. (ok, I held them while he screwed them together and painted them….he did the rest) Thank hun! They’re in the Sadester’s big girl room, and I love how they turned out! I got the idea here. Check out that post for more details of how they’re made.

We followed the tutorial, but used screws instead of nails for extra support. Then I painted them to match Sadie’s dresser, and wha-la! cute book shelves. The wood cost about $20. Not bad eh?

The shelves are nice because she can see the front of all the books. She can also see/REACH the books, which leads to all the books on the floor. oh well. You can’t win them all.

  3. I see you have “The Poky Little Puppy”. My kids LOVED that book. I even have it memorized from reading it so often.

  4. those turned out great. i have been wanting to make some too. were they pretty easy? i haven’t worked with wood since high school shop class! and what are those cool doiley looking wall things?

  5. Those look awesome. Thanks for the shout out. I love the flowers on the wall too.

  6. those are so great jess! I bought one from ikea for our kids books in our downstairs, it’s great, but yes, the books love to end up on the floor! Maybe I’ll have to make a few though because ikea is almost a 3 hour drive and I don’t have any near future plans of making up there!
