Sadie’s floral franklin christmas dress

Sadie's floral franklin christmas dress

I went back and forth on Sadie and Charlotte’s dress fabrics this year-but in the end I went with what I had picked out a few months back, this cute floral fabric. (well, that’s as close as I could find on Fabricworm where I got it!)

the red flowers reminded me of poinsettias and the minty blue accents were too sweet.

I paired it with some Dear Stella Confetti dots (the tiny dots are metallic GOLD. squeal) from my local quilt shop-the Nimble Thimble!

The pattern I used is the Franklin dress from the Brooklyn Pattern Co. Erin asked me to join the pattern tour a little while back but I didn’t have time. She was nice enough to send it over for me to make later and I’m SO glad she did! It’s a lovely little pattern and came together nicely! It was easy to customize to Sadie’s size-I sewed up a 4T bodice and then graded the skirt to a 6 length, fit PERFECTLY.

Don’t you love the little vintage flower buttons?! It was like button nirvana-they matched so perfectly with the fabric.

Sadie loves her dress, don’t let her sassy faces fool you.

Oh yeah! Have you seen her missing teeth yet? I don’t think they’ve made their debut on the blog yet! hehe!

I’m so proud of how well this little gal is doing lately. She’s really growing into an awesome girl.

She is addicted to reading (hmm, wonder where she got that?!), loves her sisters fiercely, and is fast becoming one of my best friends-I love having an older (she’s only 6 but still) daughter to chat and share chocolate with!

  1. So cute!

  2. Ah…growing up. My oldest will be 15 the end of the month. We must always be their parent first, but I tell you, this girl cracks me up!! For about the last year she has me laughing like I did in high school. Like nothing coming out sort of laughing, sides hurt laughing, pee your pants laughing. I have now doubt your little “spunky” girls will keep you in tears of laughter as well. Enjoy all the years–and it IS SO FUN to watch them change and become the little adults you hope they will. 🙂 BTW-cute dress-as always.

  3. cute christmas dress and cute gap-tooth smile! so I measured Em recently and she seems to have almost bypassed the size 4 (in Oliver + S anyway) and gone straight to a size 5. Insanity right…?? HOW?

  4. I love it! The sleeves are darling, and the buttons are perfect! I also love how it will translate well for the whole year, but still has some Christmas charm!

  5. Soooo cute!! I love your christmas dresses!! I think im going to have to get myself in gear today and make some nice christmas dresses!!
Thanks so much for the inspiration!

  6. Both fabrics are really cute – the flowers look like Poinsettias to me too…. and gold dots!!!

  7. I love the dress! But I have to know, where did you get her shoes? My 5 year old is all about shoes!

  8. She is looking sooo grown up!!!

  9. You always have the cutest dresses for your girls! Can I ask what brand her shoes are? My daughter just broke the strap on her shoes and I’m looking for a new pair!
