flannel fanfare nightgowns

fanfare flannel nightgowns

I’m so psyched to share with you a new fabric line today! and a fun pattern as well! Rae, of Made by Rae fame, has once again struck gold with her gorgeous new line of flannels from Cloud 9 Fabrics, called Fanfare!

It’s 100% organic cotton, whimsical and fun and perfect for children/baby projects! The line features adorable foxes, pennants, elephants, and polka dots…and a few gorgeous color ways as well. They sent me some to play withΒ  and I decided to make little comfy cozy nightgowns, since my girls are totally into them these days.

So the pattern I used is another from the Sew Fab bundle! It was perfect timing that this pattern fell into my hands while I had a bunch of cute flannel to use! It’s called the Sadie Grace Nightgown pattern (another sign that I should use it…wink wink)…and it’s by Seamingly Smitten.Β

For Sadie’s, I used the Foxes in pink fabric-this flannel is scrump-diddly-umptious. So so soft and cozy. The girls wore them the rest of the day-would NOT take them off for anything! lol.

C had just woken up from her nap, so I thought the bedhead was fitting. πŸ˜‰ I didn’t have enough fabric for long sleeves on Charlotte’s-so she got some 3/4 length ones…still super cute!

I liked the pattern-the sizing was good-I cut out a 5/6 for Sadie and a 3/4 for Charlotte and they both fit loosely-which of course is the point with a comfy nightgown! Plus it’d be nice if they fit for awhile!

I did change the front part and added fold over elastic (in aqua splash and grey) for the tie to cinch in the neck a bit more-just sewed it on, leaving extra for the ties in front, and enclosing the raw edge. Just pull the FOE gently while you sew it enclosing the raw edge of the fabric…I used a straight stitch and it worked great! it’s squirrely when sewing the ties so I took it slow while sewing those.

All in all, I loved the pattern, loved the delish flannel, and my girls will enjoy them all winter!

At least, if they can get over the post nap grumpies….

Thanks Rae, for having me as a part of the tour, and for the gorgeous fabric!
