So you know Lindsay, right? From The Cottage Home? Well, if you don't, she is an uber talented mama, in all aspects, but especially in sewing! She also has two little girls....sound familiar? (plus one adorable baby boy) She is also a super sweet friend and blogger. I'm so, so glad she asked me to be a part of the blog tour for her new patterns!
I chose to make the Janey Jumper, the scalloped version. I adore it. I think scallops might be the new ruffle/pleat. Though getting them to lay flat was a teensy bit tricky, she has a great technique for sewing the scallops. Like a DUH! moment. I'm definitely using it again sometime. I had a lot of DUH! moments with this pattern. haha. Totally my own idiocy though, Lindsay's pattern was fabulous. I just apparently don't know how to read, we'll leave it at that.
So even though I tried my best to sabotage myself, the dress turned out great! I sewed up the 12-18 month size and it fit Charlotte great, though it was a bit short. It looked adorable with some tights. (and of course I'll layer it with a long sleeve top this fall...as soon as I get myself to the store and buy a couple or get my hands on some white knit)

The fabric I got at a random fabric store awhile ago and I don't have the selvage. Cute though...kind of colonial-esque feel to it. Maybe? The lining/background fabric has a bit of circle pattern to it, too.
The buttons are from Joann's and I sewed them on with magenta embroidery floss to match. I love doing that! Sorry for only two pics, but that's seriously about all I got. Charlotte is a girl on the go!
Make sure to check out her other pattern, the shortcake reversible romper and dress! A-dorable.

I love the other versions of the Janey Jumper you can make-here are the versions Lindsay made:
Scallops!
and Ruffles!
...and patchwork! Oh My!
So onto the goodies!
TWO lucky readers will win their own copy of the Janey Jumper! Which are paper copies, no piecing together patterns from a PDF. (though I like doing that, weirdly enough)

I only wish I had a little girl to wear them! They are so classic and timeless but they all have some little touch to them that grabs your attention. SO cute!
Definitely the scalloped jumper. You do a marvelous job on your blog and sewing. How in the world do you find the time to sew all that you do? I wouldn't be able to get ANYTHING done with those lovely cheeks that Charlotte has! I would spend my entire day kissing them!

Ruffles all the way! I just had my third little girl and I want to make all three a Christmas version of the ruffled one!
elif(at)bellsouth(dot)net
I would try the ruffles first, for my little princess. I made my FIRST dress from Lindsey's website last week - the Party Dress (Norah loved it!). Norah is 2 and right now she will only wear dresses even though I have a drawer full of pants. She says princesses ONLY wear dresses! It is so cute. I have been trying to find leftover summer dresses at Target and then pairing them with a long sleeve shirt for the winter. I have her convinced that leggings and tights are acceptable garmets for a princess under her dress. This dress would be perfect for ALL seasons.
I love the ruffle ones the best! -lanawren@gmail.com
I'd have to make the scalloped one for sure! Followed then by the ruffled one....and finished off with the patchwork one :) Good thing I have to little girls to sew for lol!!
