little red chair

I just love quick projects with a big impact. Like this little red chair. I told you about how I got it for 50 cents, right? STEAL! I have  been on the lookout for a chair just like this for months, too. Love thrifting karma.

So, take a 50 cent chair, add some red spray paint I already had (but was about $5 probably), and you get one cute looking chair for not much moola! I had thought about sanding the edges, but I figure Sadie will be adding her own dents and dings soon enough.

She’s already broken it in with a “reading” session. (totally posed, by her! lol) Love the crossed leg.

I think it’s a winner!

  8. Your chair is so cute — especially with the owl on it. :)

  9. Love the chair… is there a DIY tutorial on the owl? I’ll have to search the blog :)

  10. Everything is more adorable in the little version! I love small chairs, and have to refrain from buying the tiny Parsons at Ross every time I am there. :)

    Red was an excellent choice!

  11. That’s the Gingercake owl, non?
The red chair is totally cute. Have you considered a little simple stenciling on the back? A little bit of personalization could turn it into an heirloom (or perhaps a “chairloom”).

  12. Love it!!! Great work

  13. Sadie smiling is just the cutest! =D

  14. Love her posed look :) Great wall decal too!

  15. Just adorable!
    Both the chair and Sadie.

  16. LOVE thrifting!!

  17. You capture the best expressions! Looks like Sadie is pleased with your thrifting find too.
I can’t wait to have space for refinishing furniture… at the moment we don’t have a good workspace at all.

  18. I adore red chairs!! What a find!

  19. For those who are wondering, the owl softie was one I made a long time ago, with a pattern I made, there are lots of owl pillow patterns out there now!
