Leah dress-KCWC

My sewing yesterday started off with shorts and morphed into this dress-a Leah tunic, lengthened, and with a band added around the bottom. Also with some cute coordinating fabric. I've mainly been making dresses this week because they're all Sadie will wear lately. Kind of annoying cause she won't wear the cute tops I've made her, but fun also cause-hey, more dresses are always fun to make!

The main fabric I used is from Moda, by Sandy Gervais, called Lovely Circle Flower Babies Breath...(loong name). The fabric I used for the bodice and band around the bottom is from Bluehill fabrics, I believe, I managed to lose the selvage though. lol. I got this while I was in Utah.

It's the perfect flowy summer dress.

She agrees-has been wearing it all day yesterday and today so far! Plus I love the coral color on my little strawberry blond. :D

Here's a close up of the fabric cause I know it's a tiny print. SOO cute in real life though. Why is it when I use up some CUTE fabric I always want to buy more, just to be sure I have some in my stash? lol! Am I the only one? Hope not!

OMG this is ADORABLE! I texted my best friend who happened to be at Joann and she is getting fabric to make similar dresses for her girls :)

I die. Gorgeous.
Can we be virtual sewing buddies?
Or, can you package some of your awesomeness and mail it to me (with a few cloves of garlic).

What a sweet little dress!! Love the fabric combination. I love tiny flower prints. I'm kind of the same way but it's more like I can't bare to cut up my favorite fabrics, and I can never find a worthy enough project to use them up on.

Ooo, I'm gonna try this one! Kadie is obsessed with dresses too. So I've been wanting to make some fun ones for this summer.
By the way, my Anna dress is soon to come to the flickr group! I just have to fix the waist band. I did it a little too small. :(

You have the best fabric taste. Just thought I would tell you. Every dress I think "Oh, I just love that one...it is my favorite." And then I see another and think the VERY SAME THING. I really am going to start sewing little girl dresses. For whom? I have no idea. But, you just make me want to try. :)

Beautiful fabric and girl! I love fun summery dresses. The hairclip is so cute too. Did you make it? I can't tell if it's felt or what. Mind posting pics or a tutorial?

Jess said...

@ Jenny-Thanks! It is made of felt, just simple flower and leaf shapes cut out and glued together and then to a clip!
