costumes!

I'm blogging over on the SEI Lifestyle blog today about costumes!

Some of my favorite memories growing up are of Halloween-dressing up like someone else...so fun, even as an adult. So, it's only fitting that I show you that sneaky peek at our costumes I promised!

Take a guess from this pic...ok you already know, right? If you're anything of a Disney fan, at least!

this should give it away....

What if I hang up the wig all creepy-like? Does that seal the deal?

hehe. Yup, Sadie is going to be the Little Mermaid for Halloween. the fin looks lopsided here, I swear it's not. hmmm...it'll look better on her, just haven't gotten any pics yet. She's decided she hates wearing anything but dress-up dresses.

I made the top with some swimsuit lining and purple knit...and the mermaid skirt was made with this tutorial. Awesome tutorial BTW.

I also used it for....

King Triton!

Yep the hubby is going as Ariel's overprotective father (it will be quite the stretch). AND he's wearing a skirt fin. Gotta have that muscle suit as well. Although Rory wants me to let you know he doesn't REALLY need the muscle suit. It's more for modesty's sake. ;)

His costume still needs the crown and cuffs-and then it'll be done!

My costume is still in the works....who wants to guess? It's really easy. (the guess, not the costume) Ok, I'll just tell ya. Ursula. I've never been a villain for Halloween, this should be fun!....muwahahaa

Oh, and Charlotte is the crab, Sebastian! My mom has a lobster costume for dogs that she'll wear with a red onesie and tights. Hee-larious!

That sounds absolutely adorable!!!
I'm embarrassed to admit I needed the wig to know what it was...I was going with Tinkerbell. I'm a bit out of practice with Disney films.

Oh if only I could get my husband to dress up like yours!!!! We're going to be the peter pan crew. I'll be wendy, Johan will be Captain Hook (a very under-dressed captain hook) Thomas will be peter pan and the girls will be tinker bell.
Love love love your idea though!!!!

Hey, that was totally my guess, but I didn't post it! I love them! I think that's hilarious your husband is going to be dressed up like that!! My husband's way too big of a poor sport. He hates dressing up. I'm excited to see pics of you all!!

HAHAHA....love it. I am pretty sure your hubby should get an award. I can't wait to see all the costumes together. So much fun...oh and why is have I been sewing for YEARS (ok not really but a LONG time) and I am still not done and here you have whipped out a whole family costume set. You are awesome!!

Super cute! I had to quickly hide the picture when my daughter walked by because I've already got all the material for her jellyfish costume and I know she'd instantly change her mind if she saw this.

She actually asked to be Ariel and I suggested she pick something she doesn't dress up as every other day of the year. However, if I had seen this great idea ... and thought to get my husband to dress up as that, I just might have caved. ;-)

So ... are you going to be Skuttle? Athena? Ursula? Prince Eric? Flounder?

After your little clue I was totally guessing little mermaid and crew, but I didn't think it could be right because I would Never be able to get my hubby to dress up as King Triton. Your husband is so awesome! I can't wait to see the other costumes! FUN

Fabulous job on the costumes. Did you make that muscle shirt? You have one good husband to wear a Mermaid costume. Honestly, my husband wouldn't go for it. I can't wait to see your costume.
