Happy Fourth of July

We started the day off with some patriotic cupcake decorating…we being Janae and I. She was a big help…we made these with Ina Garten’s recipe here, marshmallow fondant and buttercream icing.
It was a bit labor intensive but still FUN!

Then we were off to our ward BBQ at Miller park. The weather was perfect…breezy and warm. We enjoyed sitting lazily around in the shade.

Sadie’s on this feeding-herself kick. She was trying to eat the green part, so I turned it a little bit, and before I could say “SPAZ ALERT” she was having a FULL-FLEDGED tantrum. Lovely. Luckily she bounced back to her charming self pretty quick. After an afternoon nap she was better, but not much, since she only slept for an hour. (usually two)

Getting into the kiddie pool made her get into a better mood. She was the main attraction at my parents house while we were hanging out…at one point there was like 7 or 8 people watching her “swim”. She loved it.

She also got a kick out of Rory’s hat, and played with it for awhile.

The tractor held her and Gage’s attention for awhile…obviously she loves her Daddy from this picture!

The best family shot we got…

A ton of people came over to watch the fireworks…we have a great view from our backyard!

We were so glad that they didn’t cut out the fireworks this year…it’s a tradition. Sadie was soo tired (we put her to sleep upstairs in our play pen), that she slept through the whole thing. ANd it was LOUD. Really. She must have been tired.

Afterwards we hung out and made a girly pile of cute sisters. Happy times!

Hope you had a great Fourth…thanks to all who serve or have served our country and protected our freedoms. You rock.
