This dress pretty much named itself because Miss Sadie was being super sassy during this photo shoot! I couldn't believe the smiles I was getting out of her! Surprisingly it only cost me a leftover piece of saltwater taffy from her party....I was all ready with Squinkies and such nonsense. I think it's a fluke...pretty sure next time she'll be as … [Read more...]
baby’s first dress
I really wanted to sew something the other day-nothing too complicated or mind boggling (my mind is boggled enough with being 6 months pregnant), so I pulled out this mint fabric from my sponsor The Ribbon Retreat and some eyelet trim my sister in law gave me, and whipped up a little Charlotte dress for the new baby! Only I didn't cut the back out … [Read more...]

Annie dress review
Here's the second Ruby Jean dress-the Annie dress! I offered Sadie 3 fabric choices and she liked all of them, so I chose the yellow...then she was slightly disappointed when I didn't use the pink fabric....so point being, always choose pink I guess. I went for a few brownie points with the pink button, but I don't think it helped much. ;) This … [Read more...]

Vintage May dress
Are you excited for all the vintagey goodness on it's way? I am! To kick us off a bit, I made a simple dress using some vintage curtains I got at a swap at church. So they cost me free thirty free. (har har, I know) That hairpiece is a bit ridiculously huge and floppy, I know, but I figured I should go all out for this fun little photo shoot. Which … [Read more...]
Vintage pattern with modern fabric
I love to sew vintage styles with modern fabric-the fresh colors and patterns update a dated pattern instantly! Wouldn't you agree? I wish I'd done that waistband in a different fabric but nothing matched that red. I mean, nothing. That's why I stuck some green buttons on it! Sadie wasn't a big fan of this dress-so I don't know if it will get worn … [Read more...]
