snickerdoodle brownies

Ok, so these aren’t true brownies…no chocolate. But I just have this need to call them brownies…so just let me, k? I am a self proclaimed chocoholic, so the fact that I’m posting these lets you know how scrumptious they are! Full of cinnamon and brown sugar, they are moist, tender, and the top is all crunchy sweet. YUmmm….I think I’ll go have another one right now….

Snickerdoodle Brownies
adapted slightly from Dozen Flours

2 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups packed brown sugar
1 cup butter, at room temperature
2 eggs
1 Tablespoon vanilla
2 Tablespoons white sugar
1ย  Tablespoon ground cinnamon

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 9 x 13 inch baking pan. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the butter, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla until smooth. Add the flour, baking powder, and salt to the bowl, and mix until well blended. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan. In a small bowl, combine the white sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the batter in the baking pan.
ย Bake for 25 – 30 minutes or until the surface springs back when gently pressed. Remove from oven and let cool slightly on a wire rack. Eat!!

Everyone loved them, and they made the house smell wonderful as they were baking. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe — I will definitely be making it again!
