yellow leather moccs-pattern review and giveaway

Oh my gosh. You guys. I can’t get over how cute these little moccasins are! Seriously. My friend Amy over at Peekaboo Patterns sent me her new moccasin pattern to try-and I LOVE it. I had some soft buttery yellow leather (it’s a cooler-toned yellow IRL) I had gotten when me and Stef went shopping (actually she picked it out and split it with me, so I owe her big time! Thanks Stef!) so I knew right away what I was going to use for them. Luckily they go perfectly with her Easter outfit, too! yippee! I get way too excited about baby shoes and clothes!

So. Leather can be tricky to sew with, but I found that Amy’s tips were spot on. Use tissue paper under the leather and you won’t have a problem! I used a size 14 needle I think…my leather was really thin and soft. Perfect for a baby’s shoe! I made a 0-3 month size, and they fit her a little large. She’s 4 months old now, but my kids feet are always small. She tells you what shoe size they correspond to also, which is great.

Would you like to win this pattern? Or your choice of pattern from her shop? She’s giving away a 3-pattern pack to 2 different winners! Sahweet!

  7. Super cute! Do you have any suggestions on purchasing leather online? We live in an itty bitty town (on an island, with no access by road to larger stores) and all I could find online was faux leather-like fabric stuff.
    Thanks!
