OLFA applique scissors giveaway!

***This giveaway is now closed. See the winner below!***

Hello fellow people-who-cut-things-especially-fabric!
Yes, you.

We all need scissors, right? right.

How about some awesome OLFA applique scissors? yes, please.

The lovely folks over at OLFA sent me a pair to try out, and let me tell you, they are really good scissors. They cut through fabric, felt, and...well, layers of fabric and felt, like butta. (they're also good for leather!) Plus, the  extra-large handle fits up to 3 fingers in one loop, so tada! They are easily used by both left- and right-handed peeps.

(so when Sadie is old enough to cut her own appliques out, she can use these...yep, she's a leftie!)

They are also super sharp, to the tip, which is fabulous. Yes I really am this excited about some scissors! They are seriously well-made, and I can tell they will have a long and happy life in my sewing room.

They are perfect for cutting out appliques, of course, but I use them for opening buttonholes, making felt flowers, snipping stray threads....etc.

So if you'd like a shot at winning a pair of your own, here's how to enter!

Head over to OLFA's website and take a look around...what's at the top of your wish list? Come back here and let me know in a comment! (leave an email address please so if you win I can let you know!)

That's it!

I'll pick a winner Sunday the 15th. Good luck!

The winner is....Meara O!

This is an easy question. I am set to start some patchwork top for a quilt, this year and, well... I need all the equipment: rotary cutter, mat and rulers!

Ajaire said...

Well I do need a new rotary cutter, but I was just fumbling with my appliqué scissors last night while finishing my project run and play outfit for the week. They are terrible and not sharp at the tip and I was so frustrated. So this post has sealed the deal for me. I definitely would get a new pair of appliqué scissors.

Judy said...

The huge mat would be a dream for me. Cheapskate me only has a 18x12 which isn't working to well for me right now. Since I'm good with scissors and rotary cutters the circle cutter looks really neat. Thanks for the chance and love reading your blog!

woo! I'm a leftie so hooray for scissors that would work for me.

At the top of my list is a rotary cutter. Like any good fabric wino, I spend all my $$ on fun things, and not on practical things like rotary blades when mine gets so dull that it won't even cut through one layer of quilting cotton.

I am wishing for an acrylic ruler. Any acrylic ruler. :) My little one isn't hefty enough to stay put when I cut along it. buddiegurl at aol dot com

I seriously need new sewing scissors, and honestly, from their site, they would be the thing I would use most. Mine are getting seriously dull.

PS. How did I not know Sadie was a leftie? Janey is too. I tried to find some scissors for her just the other day, but all they have are the combo ones. I've heard that for when they're just starting, it's best if you get the strictly for left-handers kind. If only I could find them. :/

I have been eyeing the chenille cutter for quite some time but those scissors would be awesome to replace an older pair of similar ones that I use all the time.

I like the applique scissors, the 45mm Quick-Change Rotary Cutter, and the 4.5" x 4.5" Acrylic Ruler. I could use a good pair of scissors and a good rotary cutter, as the cheap ones I've purchased at discount stores don't last very long. The 4.5" square would be a very helpful addition to our current collection of quilting squares as well. Thanks for the contest.

That circle cutter rocks. I could really get going with that and the applique scissors.
