parisville dress

I had this dress stewing in my head the other day and it wouldn't stop bugging me til I made it. So....here it is! It has little ruffles on the sleeve, and a ruffled panel down the middle of the front-love how that turned out!

It's even fully lined-très chic! And yes, that's the extent of my French. Though, I would love to learn French, as a hobby. I think it's the most beautiful language!

Keeping with my headband craze of late, I made a rolled flower headband to match!

I used Free Spirit Fabric in Parisville (hence the name of the dress;) Topiary in Sprout for the main fabric, and Mint Eye Drop for the accent fabric.

To keep it simple, it closes in the back with a cute fabric covered button.

Très magnifique! (guess I had one more french phrase in me)

P.S. The bridal shower I threw for my sister last year was featured last week here and I forgot to link-so go check it out! I had a lot of fun with that party. :)

I can't help but picture this dress in super dressy fabrics. Like with a velvet for the main body fabric. Or even a brown babycord, with pink toned patterned fabric in the middle panel... so many possibilities to dress this pattern way up or way down.

Oh, that is SO beautiful! I wish I had your sewing skills. Want to trade them for a few more French phrases?

Do you just have these fun fabrics stashed around your place? I was just whining to my husband that I have a million projects that I don't have the perfect fabric for. In fact, last night I broke down and used muslin because I just had to make something.

That is a really, really cute dress, btw. Je l'aime!

I love love love this dress! It is adorable. I have recently ventured into the land of dress-making... it can be frustrating and time-consuming, but I feel so much pride when it is complete. I would love to try something a little more detailed, like this. Maybe someday!!

It is fantastic. I'd buy it....but my husband would probably be upset when he saw my son running around in it. Great job.

Super cute dress!

Oddly enough, I think my favorite picture is that shot of the button. I don't know why. Just love it. :)

Best of luck selling it! Whoever buys it will be lucky for sure!

Love it. Parisville is one of my all-time favorite lines. If this baby had been a girl, the nursery would be done in that line!

I'm in love with this! Did you use a pattern, or just make it up? I would love to buy this pattern if it came in a size 8. I have the perfect fabric for it!
