currently….

So I decided to bring back my daily life series-I call it “currently..”..and then I blather on about inane things that are going on in our lives. Should be fun! (catch me on Instagram for more: username craftinessisnotoptional)

Here we go…

Currently….

…busting with pride over Sadie’s sleeve pattern she handed me the other day. Size 4. Holy moly I pretty much shrieked with excitement for about 5 minutes. Might have scared her a little…

…soaking up all the lovely babyness of this little gal. She is such a good baby, and we all adore her. Seriously…can’t get the girls unattached sometimes.

…loving the awesome drawings Sadie’s been handing me, too. That’s her and I, riding a manatee. (we do that every Thursday afternoon) By the way, those are sleeves.

….enjoying our newly usable backyard! With grass! and new patio! We are pretty psyched about this and Rory has worked his butt off for a good 5 years to make it happen. It used to look like this, so you’ll understand why we are so giddy!

…laughing at all the funny ways Charlotte falls asleep. As long as she’s out, and not upside down or something-we don’t touch her. Man is she a grouch when she wakes up in the middle of the night!

….still collecting Little Golden Books. My mom called me from the thrift shop to read titles to me from the pile she had found. Score! Do I have an awesome mom or what?

…uh Conan O’Brien called. He wants his hair back.

  1. so cute, all of it! ๐Ÿ™‚ love those drawings!

  2. Those sleeves are pretty much the funniest things I’ve seen all day.

  3. I love this post!! The kids are such cuties ๐Ÿ™‚
My favourite childhood book is’ a little golden book – it’s a sesame street one called the monster at the end of the book’. It is hilarious and I’m laughing even typing this!

  4. what a cutie!!!

  5. Saw that sleeve pattern on Instagram, how precious. Did you cut it out and see how it works? lol

  6. Man, I hate when my kiddo picks out that Scuffy the Tugboat book. It’s so ridiculously long! I have to do some “editing.” ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. This is awesome. I think me and Sadie would get along well. When I was a kid, I called the PBS hotline and sent them my $1 to adopt a manatee. It still pains me that I never got my packet in the mail with the picture of the manatee. I wanted it so bad. I’ll give you all my fabric if I can go manatee riding with you guys next Thursday.

Also, Charlotte and Grace would get along so well, they seem like middle child sisters, in all their glory – they don’t even slow down in the middle of the night!! I’ll have to tell you the story sometime about why Grace said she falls asleep out in the hallway sometimes.

  8. Oh Man I remember little golden books, I used to have hundreds of them!

  9. This is a great posting! Love it all. How cute is the little sleeve pattern–that is a keeeper! And so glad you have a beautiful place for your girls to play in the nice weather. I looked at the old pics-yikes! Thanks Daddy!

  10. Love that sleeve pattern. Those daughters of yours are so adorable. =)

  11. Couldn’t be more in love with Sadie’s sleeve pattern (and drawings)! And O’s “nap twin.” And Ava’s Conan hair. Fun little gals. ๐Ÿ™‚

  12. Lovin the way you displayed your fabric! I always forget what I have stashed away so that would be a great organization option for me!

  13. I am cracking up over Sadie’s sleeves on her drawing. My daughter Sophie draws them the same way! ๐Ÿ™‚ I think it’s from the princess dresses. Too cute!! Love this post!

  14. Too cute! My youngest likes to sleep half off her bed with a pile of books too. We collect Dr. Seuss though. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  15. That manatee drawing is awesome. The round sleeves must be a universal drawing development phase. I see that others have mentioned it and Ginny used to do it, too. I still remember thinking, “WHAT?!?” the first time I saw it and being almost afraid to ask her about it. Ha ha. ๐Ÿ™‚

  16. Beautiful!!!

  17. I just about died over that last picture! So funny and too cute at the same time. I love these kind of posts! Wow, that sleeve is definitely something to be proud of, for sure!!

  18. That sleeve is the most precious thing ever! I think you should frame it :). So sweet.

  19. I laughed out loud when I saw the “sleeves”! Thanks for that ๐Ÿ™‚

  20. Just wondering if there is a tutorial for the penguin napping with Charlotte? It is adorable!!
