I made this tutorial FOREVER ago…and am just now getting around to posting it. eh.
I needed a new ironing board cover-my old one was getting grungy! These are so easy-but I thought I’d make a tutorial of how I did it anyways. here goes…

You’ll need:
fabric (depends on the size of your ironing board of course. I used about 1/2 yard for my mini one)
1/8th inch elastic
regular sewing stuff (ie, machine, scissors, thread, etc)
First, lay out your board on top of your fabric to make sure you have enough.
Cut around the board about 2.5 inches, following the curves.
Serge or zig zag stitch the edges…
then fold over 1/2 inch and pin. On the curved parts it may be a tad tricky-but it doesn’t have to be pretty-you’re not going to see it! (unless you regularly turn your ironing board upside down)
sew around fabric as shown, leaving a small space for inserting your elastic.
attach a safety pin to your elastic (I’m not sure how much I used, but start with a long piece just to be safe)
Pull it through all the way, then put it on your ironing board.
pull both ends of elastic tight, and adjust as needed. Ties your two ends securely together- pull it off the ironing board, and sew the opening closed. Tada!
Now you have a brand new (and cute) ironing board cover!
see? so easy. 🙂

Super cute ironing board. And super cute baby. 🙂 I’m tempted to recover my ironing board, but the cover that it came with has these awesome stripes that make it super easy and fast to fold hems over and stuff. I think if I recovered it I’d have to do stripes again. Haha.
