Durathon Iron review and giveaway

Durathon Iron review || hamilton Beach || craftiness is not optional

Hey, all. I’m pretty sure most of you have irons. Right? If not for starched crisp shirts, then for sewing. (As an aside, Rory would like to know what a starched, crisp shirt is)

The lovely folks over at Hamilton Beach sent me their new Durathon iron to try out! It’s pretty fantastic!

The steam feature is unrelenting  (which I looove. I steam EVERYTHING), it’s got a retractable cord (which for me is always a selling point), the usual settings, auto shut off….

It also has a non-stick sole plate that is virtually indestructible – so much that it even has a ten year warranty!

It also has a self clean option which I haven’t tried out yet.

Basically, it’s pretty darn great. It glides over fabric like it’s silk (it’s not, I have no silk), steams like a boss, and is affordable to boot.

How would you like a shot at winning one? Thought so! Enter to win one below!!

  1. How hot does it get? I like my 1700 watts.

  2. Jess, I have followed your blog for a good 4 years now, and this is the lst time I’ve entered to win. Hope I get lucky. I’ve used Rowenta irons for many, many years, but lately their design, and quality has disappointed me and I’m in search of a good/quality iron.

  3. I assume they’re not shipping to Belgium 🙂

  4. Man, a new iron has been on my to-buy list for at least two years, mine randomly decides to drop rusty water all over my board (and fabric occasionally, ugh!). No bueno. So hey, pick me! Haha.

It seems it’s 1500 watts but the price is awesome. Around 30 dolls..

  6. I sooo badly need a new iron in my sewing room. It gets used constantly! The one I’m using is one I picked up at Good Will many years ago and it’s been a trooper, but is ready for retirement. This Rowenta is the perfect color too for my purple colored room!

  10. Ok I won this iron and let me say- AWESOME! Easy if use (weight and retractable cord), heat, steam, sole plate, quick heat up has won me over! (Sorry rowentta ). Set out several of my irons when my friends and I got together to quilt. Yup waiting line or whining for this iron hehehe.

  11. Really need an iron right now. Thanks for the opportunity

  14. Would love a GREAT iron!

  15. I really would like to have an iron that doesn’t leak.

  16. Good steam is always great. I used to have an iron with the retractable cord and loved it. Mine now doesn’t have that feature and I really hate dealing with that cord laying all over the place.

Oh how wonderful. I got my iron 30 years ago. My son is getting married in a year and since he sews and sells civil war re-enacting clothes for men a lot I was thinking of giving the iron and the board (which my husband had when we got married) to him after he is married. I was just going to get myself a new iron and board. Thanks for this great chance. Happy Easter

  18. This is a wonderful giveaway I just got a new iron and was very upset because it drips all over the place so I could really use this. Thanks for the chance.
