glowstick valentines and more!

Valentines Day is on it’s way, so I’ve got a plethora of Valentine ideas for you today! First off are these super quick, super easy glowstick Valentines. I saw them floating around Pinterest and thought they were three things:

1. Fun!…who doesn’t love a glowstick? (present company included)
2. Easy-all you have to do is print and cut.
3. Cheap-f’reals. My local Target has these in the dollar section-15/$1=cheapest Valentines ever.
4. (Ok I thought of another) It’s not Candy! Not that I have anything against candy…but I really like the challenge of finding non-candy Valentines.

Plus they’re so pretty all lined up, no? Of course I’ll have Sadie fill in her name later. These are for her preschool classmates…I hope they like them!

Download the free printable here!
Plus a more boy-ish one here.
(Or click on the either of the pics below!)

The print out however many you need on white cardstock, cut them out, and get ready for the easiest Valentines ever.

You’ll need:
a standard hole punch
Valentines
glowsticks (make sure to add the little connector so they can wear it as a bracelet!)

Punch holes in the top and bottom of the Valentine…

…then thread the glowstick through the holes like so. You. are. done. Told ya it was easy!

I thought I’d round up my previous Valentines here as well! I can’t wait to show you what else I have planned for this year…yep….overboard is my middle name when it comes to Valentines day!

See my post about these “Hogs” and Kisses Valentines here! I got the pig gummies here, and they are really yummy! I don’t even like gummies much.

See my post about these I “dig” you Valentines here! You can buy the shovels here!
See my post about these I “dig” you Valentines here! I don’t have a source for these exact puzzles online, but these zoo animal puzzles would be a hit with the kiddos I’m sure!
One more Valentines Day project, just because it’s one of my faves! The blowing kisses skirt-check out the tutorial here!

  1. Fantastic ideas, although Valentine is not as big here in Europe, we actually don’t really give gifts to friends … A shame really!

  2. This is awesome! My son will definitely be using these!

  3. The glow stick valentines are perfect! They work for the older kids in elementary and so many schools don’t allow candy for allergy reasons–perfect!!

  4. What cute valentine ideas 🙂 Love all the printables!

  5. Thanks so much for including a non-pink version for the glow stick valentine!! It’s perfect for my boys!!

  6. Thank you! My oldest came home yesterday and said their teacher said “candy free valentines only”. So I’ m on the hunt! This helps a bunch! 🙂 em@ http://couplejones.com

  7. How creative Jess! Love this idea! May need to do some of these for the grandkids to hand out! Thanks so much! Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  8. SO cute, Jess, thanks for the printable! We get those Target glow sticks all the time for glow stick baths. Love the non-candy valentine option too. 🙂

  9. Ooh, thanks for sharing all of these ideas! This is the first year that I have a kid in preschool, and I’m trying not to be a no-participate-ey mom. 😀

  10. Oh my heck I LOVE this valentine. I can’t wait to bug Owen about it and see if he’s on board with it. 🙂

    I just pinned it!

  11. Love your glow Valentine! Thanks so much for the download!! I also need to make the Blowing Kisses skirt; it is as adorable as little Sadie!

  12. Love these! Thanks for the printable, and for including a boyish version, too. We just might go the glow stick route this year!

  13. Those glowstick valentines are genius!!!

  14. What program do you use to create the tags?

  15. These are cute. But I’m wondering where the tradition of giving Valentines at school that aren’t just paper came from? Why isn’t a paper valentine not good enough any more?

  16. Fantastic idea! Glow stick for Valentines!
    Thanks for sharing.

  17. Oh bless you!! I saw this idea on Pinterest as well and got the glow sticks from Target too. Was planning on designing the card and now I don’t have to, why reinvent the wheel eh? Thank you! One less thing I have to do. 🙂

  18. Brilliant!!!

  21. I cannot get these to print out big enough. Initially it tries to redirect me to a different page, but shows an error. Then, I tried a different method and they are super small – maybe 2 1/2 x 1″.
Can you tell me what I might be doing wrong? Thank you!! These are super cute and I can’t wait to make them with my daughters.

  22. Thank you for sharing this. My daughter is excited to give these out.

  23. Such a fun clever idea!

  24. This is too cute. Just popping by to let you know I included your project in my “10 cute printable valentines for kids” round up on Creative Green Living.

  25. Hi,

Next week I’ll be putting up a blog post featuring creative, diy valentines and I would love to include these adorable valentines in the feature! May I please have permission to use one of your images here with a linkback to this blog post?

    Thank you!

  26. Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids.
I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to
her ear and screamed. Theee was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her
ear. She never wsnts to go back! LoL I know this is completely off topic but I had to tell someone!

  27. Autumn Arun says

Any tips on an easy way to cut these out? Love the idea!

  28. Thanks! These were so cute! My kids loved making these. What a great non candy idea. We did the glow sticks. I found them on amazon 100 for $12!
