i made a skirt!

*happy dance!* i made a skirt! and it fits! and i didn't say bad words in my head while making it! (not that i ever do that, mom) and i did it by myself! and the zipper is crooked! and it's not hemmed yet!

but, hey. i focus on the positive here!

i used this tutorial..it was so simple and easy. my mom's serger made the seams so nice and tidy too. i love that thing. i would beg rory for one if there wasn't one a mile away with a knowledgeable sewer in-house and at my beck and call. just kidding mom.

this picture was oh so fun to take. some bending and awkward posing went on until i got an ok shot. i don't know how to use the timer on this camera yet. guess i should read up! also, please ignore the wrinkled shirt and lens cap in my hand. also, i am not flashing any gang signs with my hand.

now i want to make tons of skirts! that will all have the same shape. well, if it ain't broke...

That is so awesome! Your skirt is so cute. You always seem to amaze me. I may have to give it a try. Craft night anyone? :o)

I like that a lot. I've never made an article of clothing, I'm too scared. I can screw up a pillow, so a skirt seems way too difficult. =) I'm impressed.

Good job, Jessica! This is the first thing I've seen that you've made for yourself. Hooray!
