master bedroom headboard and doily hoops

master bedroom headboard and doily hoops

A little master bedroom redo was in order!

I fiiiiinally recovered my headboard! It was a basic brown, which I was getting pretty sick of.

We attached the three separate pieces and I recovered it as one piece. I picked out this floral fabric which I ADORE. It worked out perfectly!

I also whipped up a few pillow covers that coordinate with the headboard-checks, ikat, fuzzy navy pattern?

but my favorite part, and I guess the part that puts me over into granny chic territory, are these doily hoops I made! I bought a bunch of vintage doilies for $20 or so and popped them into some embroidery hoops..cut off the extra and glued the edges under.

It’s been a nice little facelift to our master bedroom!

  1. Wow i lovE it! The doileys. Soo pretty. I may have to steal you idea!

  2. Ah, the headboard looks amazing! I’m a sucker for anything floral. I love the doilies too, they look so sweet. I need to learn to crochet so I can make them myself – though the vintage ones do have so much character 🙂

  3. I don’t like doilies on sofas or sideboards (for me, this would be grandmotherly, but I really like the white on white of your doilies in embroidery frames, what a nice idea!

  4. I love the fabric on your headboard! I have been collecting little pieces to do over our room once our youngest is two and it can be more of an adult space. I just got a new wooden bed frame and refinished it a few weeks ago!

  5. You’re such a stud. I love this headboard and want to try to convince my husband that we should copy!!!

  6. Granny chic! I love it! Also, I thought the second picture was out of focus until you said “fuzzy navy pattern.” Haha. Nice trick, cool pattern. LOVE the redo!
