KCW: grey and mint bimaa sweater

grey and mint bimaa sweater

Mint and grey-another color grey goes well with! (it’s a great neutral wouldn’t you say?) I just had to make another Bimaa sweater after my first one. Sadie doesn’t wear it, sadly. She doesn’t like the cowl very much. boo! But Charlotte has worn it, I’m just waiting til it fits a bit better before I let her wear it out of the house.ย  I must admit I also wanted to see how cute it would look in a tiny size.

Um….pretty darn cute, right? I sewed up the 12 mo size, and while it’s snug around her tummy, it’s not too tight. and sheeshkabobs is her tummy cute in it. I can’t get over it.

I used some grey polka dot Riley Blake knit from my sponsor, SoTweet Fabrics that is FANtastic. Great weight and quality. The mint is from Girl Charlee.

It fits great, took me less than an hour to sew up. I definitely heart this pattern!

  1. eep! I love those little baby buddha bellies! Aubrey has one. It KILLS me!
    KILLS…

  2. That BELLY! So cute! Love the fabric… I’ve never seen a color that grey doesn’t work well with. =) The cowl looks so cuddly on Ava!

  3. I heart this pattern, too – I’ve made it too many times already and keep dreaming of more! ha! Love the mint and grey. I’ve never done a contrasting cowl…there’s probably room for one more in my girl’s dresser…right???
And her baby belly is to die for! My daughter lost hers too early (in my opinion) and I miss it most when she wears her bimaas.

  4. Sooo cute! And same here, I’m a fan of the pattern ๐Ÿ˜‰ Just made my fourth Bimaa this week, up next is this same cowl neck version in 12 months…

  5. This is incredibly adorable! I may have to get this pattern. How easy would you say it is? My new year’s resolution is to sew with knits and I’m trying to choose a beginner project.

  6. OY! SO CUTE! Love the 2 different colors, looks like a scarf when really it’s attached, CLEVER ๐Ÿ™‚ I wish it came in bigger sizes, my girls are all in the 8-10 size…..and I am not so confident at sizing patterns up.

  7. What a DOLL! That belly – num num, indeed!

  8. Oh, goodness… that is too cute! ๐Ÿ™‚ I love the fabrics too!

  9. This is a super cute outfit. The only drawback is how quickly they outgrow —or worse, stain!— clothes at this age! Speaking of cute outfits, are you going to bring back your “outfit a day” series? I always enjoy those.

  10. i looooove a big round belly on a tiny person, and polka dots make it even better! my three year old is holding on tight to hers, and i admit to hoping it sticks around for quite a bit longer.

  11. I think your 3rd daughter and my 3rd daughter are the same age. My Wren has that same little belly, lol. I love the little shirt. So cute and so is little Ava. ๐Ÿ™‚

  12. Adorable baby and shirt!
