dino bash outfit

This girl is 3 now! yikesabee. As you may have seen, she had a girly Dino Bash for her birthday party this year! One of the things I like to do for birthdays is make a party outfit that fits with the theme for my girls. See past birthday outfits here, here, here, and here. Next up: Sadie’s ballerina party outfit. I’m thinking….tutu and a ballerina stenciled shirt? Easy peasy. Anyways, back to the dinos!

For the shirt, I simply appliqued a dino shape I sketched out on the front of a store bought white tee using heat n’ bond, stitched around the outside, then gathered a little bit of knit fabric to make a bow, sewed that on, then a green button on top. Cute, and girly too!

The shorts I made using Dana’s new Kid Shorts pattern-I was able to be one of her pattern testers and I love love LOVE this pattern! Easy to make, and to customize. I love these pockets-I trimmed them in some baby piping to make them pop! I made a few more pairs for Ava to wear this summer, so look for those in a post soon-and a giveaway! You’ll want to enter! The pattern is addicting.

Doing her best dino faces…yeah we’ve got some work to do…lol!
