stained glass advent calendar giveaway!

***This giveaway is now closed. See the winner below!***

You may remember I did a giveaway last year for this super cool nativity advent calendar that my mom made out of felt! She made one when I was a kid and we all loved taking turns each night adding one piece to the nativity scene. Of course, with 8 kids we only got 3 turns, but still was exciting! It is one of my favorite memories, and a new tradition that I’ve started with Sadie and Charlotte. (and Ava when she gets big enough!)

My mom and dad started a new website called http://www.stainedglassadventcalendar.com/ for these advent calendars. They also sell kits to make this faux stained glass felt nativity advent-and also sell assembled advents-but they really don’t take much time to put together!

I love that each piece has it’s own little spot on the window! They stick to the backing felt piece which makes it easy and fun to re-arrange the scene.

Β The kit includes a brief verse of scripture and a carol verse to be sung each night, assembly instructions, a wood dowel, ribbon for hanging, a black backing panel with sewn casing for the dowel to fit in, blue window shapes, blue and green center panels and all the pre cut parts and pieces to make each figure:

Cave style stable
Mary and Joseph
Three shepherds
Three sheep
Three kings
Donkey and Cow
Manger with or without hay
Angel
Angel choir
Bright Star
6 smaller stars
The baby Jesus

This Nativity Calendar is handcrafted in your choice of recycled acrylic felt or wool felt for quality and durability.

They also sell the pattern only if you want to cut out your own felt pieces!

So how would you like to win a kit to make your very own nativity advent?

How to enter:

1. Head over to their website and check out my cute mom’s film debut! They have some informative videos you can watch (look for Sadie and Charlotte too!) Then leave a comment on this post with your favorite Christmas tradition! Leave an email address please so I can contact you if you win.

This giveaway open to US residents only.

This giveaway will end Wednesday the 28th. Good luck!Β
The winner is….Megan!

I love, love your moms advent calendars:)

  21. I love putting up my Mama’s nativity set. I remember as a little girl her going to buy the figures. When she died it was **the one** Christmas decoration I asked for. My kids love playing with the pieces and it’s a neat way for her to be a small part of their lives even though she’s not physically here.

  22. My favorite tradition since my high school days is choosing a way to give to someone whose basic needs are not being met. We have so much while others have so little, and at Christmas I often wonder how our rushing about to get gifts for those who already have honors Christ. I love the advent calendar. I made something similar for my children for Lent and Easter and it became such a meaningful tradition. Thank you!

  23. Thanks for a terrific give-away. My favorite tradition would be a toss up between the decorating and the candymaking. The decorations bring back lots of memories as a lot of my ornaments were made by students I have taught. As for the candy I do hand dipped chocolates and make gift boxes for various people in the community.

  24. This nativity is beautiful and fun! I can’t imagine how much time your mother put into these to make them; looking at it, each piece is so detailed.

My favorite tradition is reading a new scripture, Christmas story, or song from the book that my mom made for each of us kids. She put them all together and with there having been 9 siblings, she had her work cut out for her. If I can ever scrape together that much time, I’d love to make one for each of my little munchkins for them to hold onto when they’re adults and have children of their own!

  25. Our favorite holiday tradition was going to midnight mass, then making the breakfast roll dough and putting in the fridge overnite, and baking them Christmas morning after opening gifts. Thanks for the opportunity!

Btw, I love your parents’ site and their ideas! I REALLY like this Nativity Calendar and would LOVE to win. But I also really liked the better than a box violin. I, too, started Suzuki violin at 3.5 with a butter box and took lessons until I was 17 (finishing all 10 books, of course!). I’m amazed your whole family took lessons and now the grandkids. That’s awesome! I have a little violin for my son right now (he’s 5), but probably should go back to the butter box as he’s a little rough on the strings. But it’s fun anyway, seeing him excited about music. Anyway, just wanted to say I think your parents’ products are awesome and I wish them lots of luck!! πŸ™‚

Looking at Christmas lights in town or just in our neighborhood. And a newer tradition for us that is sort of heartbreaking is going to see the luminaries in a cemetery by our house.
