Superhero party treats and a free printable

My good friend Aimee was planning her son’s (coincidentally, Sadie’s future husband, or so she says) birthday party and I volunteered to make some superhero cookies and cupcakes, because if you know me at all, you know I love to bake…and a good theme!

Her husband cut out that awesome skyline, and the POW sign from poster board. (plus a couple more scattered around the room) She also used our other friends Silhouette to cut the shield banner out.

I loaned her the cake plates, bowl, and platters.

I made the cupcake toppers using my Silhouette, and the recipe for the cupcakes is here, the frosting here.

ย (sorry about the bad picture)

I spotted these cookies and used them for my inspiration (but man I wish I had her skillz!). I used a spiderweb cookie cutter for the POW!’s and BAM!’s. For the Super G (which the birthday boy loved!), I printed off a Superman shape from online and made a template, then cut out the cookies with a knife. It was a cinch because of the straight lines, plus I only made a few…but my mind is now opened to hand-cutting possibilities!

a bit of a better picture.
I also made her some favor bag tags-which I have for you to download! Just click on the image below to go to the download page. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Wow, everything looks so good, i guess it was interesting for you to do a boy project for a change, but as always the results were fantastic and the pictures are so great to look at. Maybe this could be a kind of rehersal in case you have one boy of your own someday!! ;0)

  9. So cute! I was actually at the park this weekend, and a little boy was having a super-hero themed party. All the kids came dressed as a super-hero and they had a silly string fight at the end. Such a fun idea!
