So. Wanna hear about how I named this top? In my head, I started calling it the Bibby top, since it kind of has a bib shape on it. Then of course I rhymed it with Libby. So it’s the Bibby Libby top. Or just the Libby top, since I should probably try to maintain some sense of normalcy and sanity around here. (BWAH!)
And yes, I know that the bottom button should be a little higher. It bugs me, but not as much as it would bug me to take apart this shirt. I made it from some of the fabric I got from this estate sale.
The pieces I had were hard to work with, hence this design!
It has a fun bib/scoop/thingy on the front, which is gathered below that, and buttons up the front. Also has some slightly poofy gathered sleeves.
Ugh, now I not only wish that the rest of my house was unpacked enough that I felt safe unpacking my sewing machine, but I’m missing fall weather as well!! You’re such a tease, Jess. And a motivator. Now if only you could convince this locale to reach temperatures below 80 at any point in the year….
🙂 A
I am so in. I have been looking for a shirt pattern like this for the autumn. So excited!
I so would be, if I had children!
Sadly the niece is growing so fast that she’d outgrow it by the time I was halfway done XD yay growth spurts :s

AArgh! I’m about to move house, so I think I’ll have to skip this sew-along (for hubby’s sake, if not my own). I missed the Junebug dress too, this is another great item to add to the “Go back and do” list! It looks darling on Sadie.

I would love to, but I have never sewn clothing without a pattern!
This is so sweet, Jess. The little red buttons are adorable.
I am in! I have the perfect fabric in mind for the shirt. Now to find the coordinating bib fabric & buttons. I can’t wait. I was just searching for fall clothing tutorials. Can’t wait
I think I’m in….time depending, but would love to give it a try. I have a month old baby girl, Maela, so time is sometimes at a premium! Thank you for offering your sew alongs…I love all your stuff! 🙂
This shirt is lovely…i would love to give it a go. A silly question, sorry – are you going to release the pattern on Monday or have I misunderstood?
I’m in. Jess, I love how you motivate us to sew. Thanks!
ooh, my first sew along. This top is seriously too cute, hopefully my 4 year old will agree to wear it. She is on strike from wearing handmade clothes this week…this should win her over though!
