Bobbin Blooms review and giveaway

See the winners below!
Hey have you guys heard of Bobbin Blooms?Β  Β
It’s a new (and pretty cool) product! Suzann, their creator, figured out a new way of storing bobbins with thread. These things are nifty.

Let me show ya how they work. Grab your rubber Bobbin Bloom… (then say that five times fast πŸ˜‰

and drop the bobbin in the bottom.

Then pop your thread in too! (there are different sized ridges inside, so it fits a lot of thread spool sizes.)

Β Each set comes with colored stickers to match your thread. There are actually a lot of colors, I had no problem finding stickers to closely match the thread I picked out.

***The thing I got really excited about was using these for craft nights at other gal’s homes. Just load up one of the Blooms with the thread and bobbin needed for your project, and cart it along. No lost-in-your-bag-bobbins! (not that I would know anything about that…)

Β They also fit nicely on these wooden thread organizers-bonus!

How would you like to win aΒ  Deluxe set of Bobbin Blooms? Well, here’s your chance. I have two sets (of 8 blooms each) for two lucky winners!

To enter:

Leave a comment on this post and tell me the top three thread colors that you use. (I have a feeling white is going to be popular) Please oh please leave your email address so that I can contact you if you win! (you can spell it out, ie: craftinessisnotoptional(at)gmail(dot)com)

This giveaway is limited to US residents, and will be open to enter until Sunday, October 2nd, when I’ll then pick a winner.

Good luck!

The winners are….Mrs. Olson!….and…. Sandy8!

Congrats! Expect an email from me soon.

  1. Most commonly used colors around here are white, a dark greenish blue, and pink.

    shortcake2675 at gmail dot com

  2. Believe it or not but tangerine is my most used colour (I’m obsessed at the moment!), followed by olive green and white. Bobbin Blooms are a fantastic idea, I’m forever loosing stuff…

  3. Hmmmmm….white, white, and um….white. πŸ™‚ Ok, ok, so if I had to think past white, it would be white, black, and brown. I know….so adventurous!

    selahmama4 at yahoo dot com

  4. That’s incredibly cool. I LOVE these!!

I fly through white, but I also use lots of black and pink.

    [email protected]

  5. Great product. I use a lot of white, black and pink.

    [email protected]

  6. Number one would have to be white of course, then would come cream and black. What a great idea for bobbins.

  7. I think white, blue and a rusty orange are my favorites. When there’s a minute to spare, I usually do some sewing for my little man!

  8. Right now, my main colors are black, white and brown πŸ™‚

  12. Wow, I have never seen these but they would help me so much! I use white, pink and red thread the most.
    (email in profile)

  13. I’m totally embarrassed to admit this…but I sometimes pick my projects based on that last color thread that i have in the machine! (Especially since I “think” it’s “bad” for the machine to leave it on while storing.)

So, the top three colors this month: aqua/teal blue, olive green, and white.

And since I often sew with the bobbin thread shade just a bit off from the actual sewing thread (b/c well, that bobbin was already made and I only sew during naptime), the Bobbin Blooms would be an AWESOME addition to my sewing and perhaps even make me a better sewer! Thanks for the chance.

  14. I can say without even thinking about it that the top three thread colors in my house are white, black, and pink. Thanks for the chance to win this super cool giveaway!

  26. These look like a great way to transport thread with a project! Lately I’ve used a lot of teal, pink and red.

  27. Aren’t those the niftiest little things!? Your right, it appears by everyone’s responses so far that white is the most used thread color. It is also on my list along with black and dark navy blue (the color of my work uniforms).

Thanks so much for the opportunity to win these!

  28. What a fabulous idea! White is obviously my most used thread, but then i’ve also been using invisible for my bindings when its hard to match multiple colors, and black is usually a staple — sounds boring but I promise i’m not! haha

  29. white, red and light pink

    lgwilson at gmail dot com

  30. Been using a LOT of Brown – for fall – yellow & green are always popular around here too

  31. Those are too cute. I definitely use white the most, but I also use some black and some blue thread too!

    i . am . rachel . hull (@) gmail . com

  32. These are cool!!!
Obviously, white, but also lots of brown and right now purple (my daughters favorite color)!:)

  33. white black brown

  34. White, lilac, and hot pink!

    christinapitters at

  35. This is genius! It’s one of those ideas where I say “why didn’t I think of that?” Fingers crossed that I win this awesome giveaway. My top three thread colors are white (of course), blue, and green!

    moneysavingmomma (at) hotmail (dot) com

  43. I use black, white and pink most though for some reason my machine hates white…

    [email protected]

  44. Right now I use black, a gold color (for my 9 Roman shades I’m making) and red. These Bobbin Blooms are a great idea, my bobbins just roll around in a drawer and when I need to find thread and bobbin I can never find the right ones and then I have to rewind a bobbin, annoying!
    reggity at sbcglobal dot net

  45. I think brown is my top color. I seem to have a lot of brown projects lately and have wound up with about 5 spools of ever so slightly different shades of brown. Same with dusty light blue. And then I have white for the projects where I don’t care about thread matching. Most of what I sew is clothing for my kids and I like to topstitch, so matching is important to me.

  46. oops….forgot email aharrisuto at yahoo dot com

  47. Hi! What a cute little gadget! I must have some. In addition to white, I use a lot of purple and rusty orange. As my daughter gets older, my thread stash gets brighter and brighter.

  193. What a great product! I mostly use off-white, pink and grey.

    greenletterday at yahoo dot com

  194. Aside from white, I would say pink, red and blue (medium to light).

    hillary (at) redballoonpr (d0t) com

  195. For my most recent projects it would be white, tan, and black…but I have used quite a bit if red recently too.

  196. Oh my gosh! Those are amazing! I am ALWAYS traveling with thread and getting them snarled!

I use blue, gray and black most frequently.

  197. I am super boring, my most commonly used threads are white, ecru and black πŸ™‚

  198. The last 3 I used (not sure what the *most* used are): pale green, navy, light pink.
    pjoann78 (at) gmail (dot) com

  199. Silvery gray actually can fake a lot of colors, so it’s my number one. Then pink and black next, cause there’s lots of girly sewing here, and my labels are black! πŸ™‚ Thanks for the chance, these look awesome!

    transamgirlsthreads at gmail dot com

  200. These look great! I use white, black & blue the most. Thanks! mamalusco at ortelco dot net

  201. Lol, I would’ve said the most common colours I use are white, black & brown. But I just went thru my bobbins & the 3 colours most on the bobbins are: Cream, Light Green & Dark Grey.

  202. white, pink and black!

  203. I probably use brown, black, and taupe the most often. It’s funny because I use a lot of bright colored fabrics in my sewing, but these thread colors just seem to blend in the best.

  204. Wow these are so cool! of course white is my most used color but lately it’s been apple green and brown!

    courtney.b (at) mac (dot) com

    dimplebrandy (at) gmail (dot) com

  211. These are just great! I have often “tied” my bobbins to their coordinating thread…but this is much cuter!

Hm, my three most used thread colors are brown, black and cream. Dull I know but there they are!

  212. What a nifty gadget! I use white, black, and blue the most. j-j-s AT juno DOT com

  217. My top three thread colors…well, cream is my mostly used color and I just ran out mid-apron-project, then pink, simply because I have 2 girls and I sew a lot of pink things, and lastly, probably black because I love the look of contrasting stitches. The Bobbin Blooms are so cute I wish I would have thought of that idea…pure genius!

  218. what a fabulous idea. I mostly use white, black and pink

  225. These look like the perfect way to keep my kitties from taking off with my bobbins! I would have to say my most common colors used are white, pink, and brown.

    [email protected]

  234. Pink, green and black are the most used colors here. Black because the 3 of us who work mostly have black pants and pink for the grandbaby!
    glenda701 at yahoo dot com

  235. What a great idea! White, definitely, then probably blue and green.

  236. My most commonly used colors are: navy blue (sewing husbands uniform patches), magenta and pink. As of late, I have been working on projects for our soon-to-be-born little girl, so my sewing machine has practically gotten dyed pink with all the fabric I have been running across it. These are great ideas! I am forever losing my bobbins…

  237. Those are so super cute! My most use colors are orange, turquoise, and black.

    zigg13pra at gmail dot com

  240. I am in the military so I use a lot of sage green/tan and dark blue to tailor my uniforms, but white definitely comes after that!

    [email protected]

  241. I use all too many colors in sewing costumes, dresses for my daughter and bags and backpacks for personal use (and by request for business when I get talked into it). We’re an Army family so green and green and green is the color I use the most. That would be Olive Drab (OD) green, Forrest green and whatever color I can find that matches the current Army Combat Uniform (lately I’ve had to work with grey as I couldn’t find a good green after running out of my stash from the mainland, we live in HI, not the best shopping options for a sewing junkie, Walmart and a couple high priced fabric stores, but Walmart does okay here).

  242. This is the best idea! I can’t believe how simple it is and how perfect it is.
I use white most, then I use a natural/tan color, the 3rd color I use is blue, I have a lot of shades of blue in my stash.
    [email protected]

  243. Oh yes please. I really do need them! Thanks!

  244. black, white, and tan. I sound boring don’t I? Actually I usually sew brights with mix and match all shades of all colors so I either match my background (black or white) or use the neutral – tan. tjboyce(at)juno(dot)com

  245. My top three most used thread colors are white, light blue, and pink. I love blue and my daughter loves pink.

  246. White (of coarse), black (yeah yeah yeah), and bright pink (my daughter loves anything bright pink at the moment).

  247. Those are so cute!!
White, cream and green are my most used colors of thread. πŸ™‚

  248. Those are really cool!! My top three colors would be white, cream & grey.

  249. hmmm…clear, robins egg blue, hello yellow!

  250. What a wonderful idea!

With three little girls, our favorite colors list has to include pink. Other than that it’s probably white and gray…all those light-colored girls’ outfits!

  254. How fun! Currently I have black on my machine (fun Halloween costumes), also ecru and hot pink. πŸ™‚

  255. Ohhh pick me! I am forever searching for some ingenious way to keep my bobbins w/ my thread. Just ask Feelin’ Crafty. I don’t know why those wooden thread holder manufacturers wouldn’t just lengthen their pegs by about 3/4″ … that would solve everything! Well not everything, you’d still need these Bobbin Blooms for mobile crafting.

Anyway. I use white, black, and beige thread the most. Boring but true.

  256. My three most used thread colors are grey, black and navy! This is an ingenious idea πŸ™‚ Thanks for the giveaway!

    alisonmhollowell at gmail dot com

Paige dot dullaghan at Verizon dot net

  261. oooohhhh. This is cool. I haven’t seen these before. I like! hmmmm… colors. yes, white is a big one. I also seem to use a lot of blue and red.

  262. Pink. Orange. Red. (I’ve been sewing a bit for the 3 girls. Someday I’ll start something for my son.)

Thanks for all the great tips/projects! gutenkauf at nrctv dot com

  263. I use a light blue, pink and probably a white, I find that they cover a lot of the projects I use….though I have a ton of different colors and this would make life so much easier!

    jessiehamblen at gmail dot com

    [email protected]

  271. Currently I use mostly white (surprise), pink, and red. I’m sure that will change before too long. . . .
