I know I have. We got this doll bed at Ikea the other day, and of course the bedding that came with just would. not. do.
Not for this obsessive sewer. So I made this little quilt/pillow set to match Sadie’s room. (I said, obsessive)
That little pillow is my favorite! Makes me wish I could shrink down to try it out!
I made the “mattress” by hot gluing a piece of fabric around the support piece on the bottom, and stuffing it with poly fil. Easy peasy. I used the rest of the binding from Sadie’s quilt for the edges. (waste not, want not)
I LOVE the quilting…some fun swirls. The great thing about doll quilts is you can practice new ways of quilting! Now I wish I’d done the baby’s quilt like this. ah well. The wonky star was a new block for me to try too. I used this tutorial, which is awesome!
I really want to try whirlygigs next. Whoa. slow down Jess. hmm, maybe an extra quilt for the dollies? They’re always complaining of being cold…

Just wanted to let you know that I made your bourbon chicken recipe last night for dinner and it was a hit. It’s just me and my hubbie but he can be pretty picky and he even said it was a keeper! I thought it was delicious too — I was a little nervous with the sauce after mixing everything together, but once it simmer for a little while it was so good =) I served it over rice as well, and had a veggie on the side. Thanks for posting!!
I think I’m in love! That pillow is adorable and the quilting is SO cute!! I am practicing my quilting right now for the real thing, and DUH! A doll quilt would have been way more fun to practice on. =]
Yup, totally obsessive, but totally cute! Love the fabric you used for the center of the star and pillow stripe.
Beautiful. Of course I’m totally in love with Sandi Henderson’s Meadowsweet line, so that made it even better. I may have to try my hand a doll quilt. I’m a beginning quilter and am almost done with my very first baby quilt. I bet my daughter would LOVE a dolly quilt.
Super cute!!!
Oh. oh wow. I love it! I really lOVE it!!! SO cute! Well done!
so so cute! I want one and the pillow case just puts it over the top. I think you and I should both join the next round of the doll quilt exchange. ๐
Where do I sign up, Anna? Sounds like fun!
I love that you are making so many adorable quilts for your family… *and* their dolls! And I concur; the pillow is *too* cute!!

The obsessive sewer in me loves it! Another add-on to my ever growing list of projects…
Aaah! So cute! I just featured it on my blog (www.funfindsformom.com)
I love the projects you come up with!
got the same bed for my little one’s baby dolls and hated the bedding. was torn about that to make and the color to stain the bed. seeing this helps me a lot. thank you!
I recently got the Duktig for my 3.5 y/o. Hated the bedding, thanks for the inspiration!
This is so cute! I was just searching for the IKEA bed & came across a link to your page on Fun Finds for Mom. I love it! My daughter wants one for Christmas maybe I can get my seamstress (aka mom) to make a quilt for it! ๐
I also checked out your scrapbooking! I love your simple graphic style…and the machine stitching. I hope it’s OK, I just had to post a link to you on the FB page for the scrapbook store where I work. I know the ladies will be very inspired by your creations! ๐ Have a great week!
