the year of the boy

the year of the boy

I know last year was a bit…sparse…on the sewing front on this ol blog here. (to say the least)

So…I set a goal for myself this year to try and remedy that. I want to sew more but I’m switching gears a little from my norm!

My goal for 2018 is to sew (at least) one thing for Jack each week.

YEAR OF THE BOY!

I am hoping this kick starts my love of sewing again and it’s a whole new world for me!

(a dazzling place I never knew!…………had to sorry.)

I’m going to focus on clothing but I thought I’d start off with an easy softie!

I grabbed this adorable lion fabric from Spoonflower last year when the fat quarters were buy one get one free (they do that I think at least once a year?),

and added some brown fleece on the back-sewed it up, and had Ava stuff it for me, lol! She was so patient while doing it, totally shocked me!

It’s totally adorable and squishable and the perfect way to get started on my year of the boy!

Wish me luck…

  1. Yeah! I can’t wait to see what you create. I am early awaiting some inspiration for my own little guy. Good luck!!!

  2. Yeh girl!! I’m focusing on boy stuff again this year too! ????????

  3. The very best of luck! Maybe your sew mojo will rub off on me??? Pretty please??? Especially since I joined the club of “4th Baby is a Boy after 3 Girls” in 2017. 🙂 I need to sew. Soon. It’s been a year. Good grief.

  4. Go for it! Boy sewing is great and it’s nice to see you back, sewing.

Ooh fun!!! Can’t wait to see all your makes for the Boy!! Good luck!

  6. Thank you for this! Currently the grandboys outnumber the grandgirls… I look at my patterns and fabric and know I need to “up my BOY GAME”!!!

I look forward to your inspiration!
    Happy New Year!

  7. This is such a great idea! I blog about creating things mainly for my boys. There needs to be more boy inspiration in the creative world, so thank you for contributing!
