granny chic Bateau drop waist dress and pattern giveaway!

I’m soo excited to be a part of Anneliese’s Bateau Top pattern tour! She is the force behind the blog Asthetic Nest and the Wee Muses Pattern line-and not only is she super talented in many aspects, she is seriously one of the sweetest people I know. Period.

So I was all too happy to sew up her new pattern-the Bateau Neck Top! I also used the Dress/short sleeve Pattern extension-the drop waist version to be exact. I will gush more on that later…

By the way-I was so excited to get these natural smiling shots of Sadie-this is her TRUE smile…no faking-just happy. I AM SO HAPPY.

The fabric I used was from Girl Charlee (of course hehe) but sadly looks like it’s not in stock anymore. You have to be quick-their popular fabrics seems to go fast! Edit: Here’s another colorway! It’s a fabulously soft but sturdy knit-a mix between interlock and jersey. Soft enough that she wanted it for a nightgown! lol.

I fell in love with the rose pattern, and so did Sadie…it’s like a chic granny couch pattern…which is all the rage now, right?

Ok on to the gushing. I adore this pattern. Not only is the sizing spot on (check the pattern’s measurements for the best sizing: I made Sadie a size 3T with 4T length and it worked out fabulously), but the pattern is really well worded & put together.
The neckline is adorable and summery, and I loved the drop waist-I’ve never done one before actually, and I loved how it moved when she wore it. It’s got the perfect amount of flare. I sewed a piece of twill tape with the ends hemmed under for the bow tie, and a little pocket made with some voile Kristin sent awhile back.

So all in all, I give this pattern an A++! Get it here!

Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this pattern, but all thoughts and opinions are my own-I’ll give it to ya straight folks…dontcha worry.

  1. […] Anneliese’s projects are always gorgeous and flawless- of course her patterns are perfectly executed as well. The finished product is gorgeous in it’s J-Crew-y, classic styling (though, with a less preppy fabric choice, the clean lines would take on all sorts of looks- bright, playful, granny chic)! […]
