a bit random…

Just wanted to pop in today and share a few quick pics! I finished Charlotte’s quilt top! WOohoo! So here’s a sneaky peek. This was a beast. Each block took about 15-20 minutes (I timed them yes-I’m-a-nerd), so the blocks themselves took me 9-11 hours of back-breaking sewing. Ok maybe that’s a little dramatic. But each little square is 2.5 inches, 9″ finished so darnit, those suckers were a lot of work! Future-Charlotte, you’d better appreciate the time spent on this when you’re reading this post as an adult! Also, you’d better still have (and treasure) this quilt. Or else.
Also, Ava is now two months old! I know, time flies, right? She is a real sweetie pie. And a great sleeper! Somehow. It’s probably not anything we did, but I’ll take it.
So what are you up to right now? I’m planning and crafting it up for our third annual Valentine’s exchange party, so I’m excited about that! Also, I’m making lots of Valentines and eating the extra candy. Not so good for my loose-the-baby-jiggle resolution, but oh well! I can live with that.

How on earth is Ava two months old already? Time just keeps going faster and faster, and I’m scrambling to keep up. She is adorable. =)

  7. such a pretty quilt top. Ava is such a lovely little girl. She looks like a happy baby. Good for you.

  8. Little Ava is so cute! I have a baby girl born just a week or so before her, & it’s fun to see other babies the same age. Do you have a tute somewhere on your blog for the tulle flowers on her headband? Or could you point me in the direction of one? My other dd had tons of hair, so I could put clips in her hair right away. This one, not so much…We’ll be doing headbands for quite awhile. I feel the urge to make way more than I’ll probably ever use!

  9. Man, it has been awhile since I’ve had a chance to catch up on your blog! You have been SO busy making things, I can hardly believe you have three kids!! I love Charlotte’s quilt, it is just beautiful!.. and next year I will definitely be doing the glow stick valentines, what a great idea! Hope you have a blessed week!

  10. She is a doll! And I am so happy for you that she’s a good sleeper-that makes such a big difference:)
We’ve had a few sewing projects of our own going on, including making modest swimming suits-first time! It was fun. You can see them here: http://nevadakids.blogspot.com/2013/01/projects.html
