thrifting lately

Thrifting has been a little sparse for me lately…and my favorite thrift stores stopped having sales as often, which is a bummer. Hopefully awesome people start donating awesome stuff again soon!
Ya know, so I can find it and bring it home with me. So maybe it’s a good thing I haven’t found much lately. I’m sure Rory appreciates it. 😉 (although I have dropped off my fair share of boxes lately-feels good to finally get my spring cleaning done…plus I organized my craft room! yeehaw.)

However, the past few trips have turned up a few gems!

Grabbed this trio of pretty colored dishes-$4 for the lot.

Found these fabulous vintage Mikasa plates-$6 for 4. I’ve been enjoying my lunches on them for the past week-it sure brightens up my lunch hour!

I found this awesome vintage box for $3, which now holds my craft paints! And very stylishly, might I add.

I also snagged this vintage Singer sewing book for $4-I fell in love with the cover, plus I felt a little obligated to buy it since I sew. It’s my duty as a sewing book collector, right?

If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen these already…I love that app like a pregnant woman loves french fries…my username is craftinessisnotoptional if you want to follow me!

What have you found lately?

  4. Cute plates! You definitely had to snag the sewing book. Have a good week!

  5. Awesome finds! Love them all! My sweet finds lately have been a kenmore sewing machine for 5 bucks and my favoritest find would be my wood play set/ swing set for 50 bucks… That was a steal!

  7. i love these! i don’t go thrifting to often. i once ended up a garage full of furniture, dishes, nick nacks, and picture frames…i can get obsessive about it! at least i can live vicariously through you and your lovely finds!

  8. Always love your vintage finds! I love that box, and I have the same sewing book! Got it at an amazing estate sale that was wall-to-wall fabric and patterns. They gave us huge plastic bins and said “fill it up for $5!” Ahh… it was awesome. 🙂

We’ve been finding some good thrift store & garage sale finds lately, which is always fun. We opened a second Etsy shop to start selling what we find because, well, we can’t possibly keep it all!

  9. OH! How I cried when I saw those plates!

My favorite memories growing up are from my grandmother’s house and her dishes were *just* like those. There were a LOT more than four of them, of course, but seeing that pattern again was so surprising! My uncle has them now and still uses them as everyday dishes.

And they matched her kitchen wallpaper! It was yellow gingham with the daisy print.

  10. I have one large Mikasa platter, and I love it! I want more!
