Diamond Dolly review and giveaway!

***This giveaway is now closed. See the winner below!***

Hey guys! Have you got yourself an American Girl doll lover in your home? I do, and it’s not Sadie….yet! πŸ˜‰ I have always loved those dolls, and my doll Samantha even crawled out of my sister’s closet to model an outfit for you today. Ok she didn’t actually crawl out, that’s a bit creepy….but moving on, this great shop called Diamond Dolly Boutique sent me this adorable outfit to review!

Sadie fell in love with the doll and the new outfit, but I don’t think she’s quite old enough to treat them the way they should be treated. My mom was always really adamant about that, so I think I’ll wait to get her one of her own til she’s a bit older. (what age do you think is a good one?)

Anyways…the outfit is very well made-great sewing! I love the cute trim on the sleeves, and the little accessories are adorable. It came with that cute star necklace which Sadie LOVED, and the adorable yellow sandals. Also that cute pup and leash! I love that the outfit sets come with so much-it really is so much fun to open up and play with each piece. (I mean…it was fun for Sadie to do that….yeah…..)

So they are generously giving away today an adorable workout outfit set! (all their outfits are made to fit an 18″ doll)

I mean, come on! The detail on this is amazing. Love that sweatshirt (and little applique!).

and the tennies!

Β The water and fruit just makes it even more adorable.

So how’d you like a chance to win this adorable outfit for your daughter/niece/friend’s kiddo/yourself?

To enter:Β
1. Visit their shop and take a look around their other outfit sets….then come back and leave a comment telling me your favorite one(s)!
Please leave an email address with your comment!

Β Good luck!

The winner is….Lisa!

  1. I love that the outfits come with shoes and accessories. We have a Bitty Twin named Suzie at our house. I suspect as with most American girl doll outfits she can wear them the will just fit differently.

  3. Oh my 8 year old granddaughter would love them all! She saved and saved her money till she finally had enough to buy her own American Doll! That was one happy little girl. I think the most important thing to her was how she had saved her money for so long and finally had it all but $5 and her little brother gave her the extra needed. Talk about teaching the gift of giving!!! The cute little seasonal winter outfit with boots is adorable. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  4. Love the Winter jacket outfit. So Adorable! My daughter would love the clothes. We’ve just started into this phase and she is five.

  7. I love the orange sundress outfit that has the soda and candy as accessories, so cute! My daughter is 6 and wants an American Girl but I too think it’s too young for her to take care of the doll carefully. We told her that more like 8 years old would be a good age and we would go to New York City to the store and she could pick one out herself special.

  10. That fishing set is perfect for summertime! By the way, we are planning on getting my oldest an AG doll for her 6th birthday. She has been begging for one since she was four, but at $100 she needed to be older and more responsible! Thanks for the giveaway!

  16. All of the outfits are really cute. My daughter would love any of them but I’m sure she would really squeal over the winter coat outfit. Thank you for the chance.

  17. the bikini is super cute – as are all the outfits! My girls got dolls when they were pretty young (maybe 3 yrs old) but they were the Target version (Our Generation) – they LOVE them and I don’t mind when they play with them outside, etc, because they were only $20 – – when they are older, maybe 8, I think they’ll be ready for the real thing

I really like the outfit with the pea coat, tunic, leggings, and boots. My daughter got a Madame alexander 18″ doll ($30 at Costco) at age 8 and was told if she took good care of it she could have her American girl when she turned 9. She did and at age 12 still plays with her Josephina and Felicity dolls. Also, Samantha has been discontinued so she is a collectors item now. ~Jamie Neff [email protected]

  19. Love the one piece swimsuit and the butterfly outfit.

  20. I love the fishing outfit! I have two daughters and between them we have five American girl dolls and two bitty twins in the house. My youngest got the twins for her third birthday and my older daughter got her first doll when she was seven. The younger daughter then got a doll when she was four. Sure, she plays a bit rough with them, but she adores them and they can handle it! They are so well made!

  21. I think 7 is a good age. My older daughter got one at 9 and that was a little bit too old. She wasn’t interested in the doll for that long.

  51. Wow, eye candy for grammies too! I might have a few of these dolls hanging out at my house, but did buy Bitty Twins, a boy/girl combo for my 5 y/o grandson and 3 y/o granddaughter last Christmas. HE named them, HE chose the games to play with them, HE chose the clothing, lol, boys like them too! As far as getting my grand daughters AG dolls, full sizes, probably not until they are 9 to 11. I guess it depends on, “are they ready yet?” I did go to the website and fell in love with the winter outfit, fur lined and warm looking and that dog! They look very well made. Thank you, Elaine

  56. The yoga outfit is super cute!! I recently took my girls to the ag store for dinner- so fun. My sister came with and brought her Samantha doll- she was treated like a celebrity since she’s been retired for so long. I’m not sure how old Sadie is but if you get her a doll with straight hair (kit or Julie have straight hair or any of the my ag dolls with straight hair) I don’t think you’ll have a big problem. I know it’s a big expensive toy but so much nicer than the knock offs. You’ll be able to sew all sorts of fun matching outfits! My youngest for kanani at age 4.5. Super long curly hair. What a mess. I just keep it twisted up In a bun to keep the hair nice. She’s 6 now and still really loves her doll!

  57. The American Girl Doll Outfit- Sundress Outfit is so cute! Blessings!

  58. My favorite has got to be the butterfly catcher outfit. So cute and detailed, and those sandals are the best!!

  61. My daughter has inherited my American Girl doll and has a bitty baby too! (For those of you who are wondering, they use the same body for both dolls, but the length of the limbs are different, so the clothes are generally interchangeable. My little girl would love the vested outfit with the reading glasses and smartphone. Stinkin’ adorable!

  63. I love the pea coat outfit! I bought my daughter a bitty baby for her 2nd birthday and she just got one of those inexpensive 18″ dolls from target – I hope to let her pick out an American Girl doll when she’s 8.

  66. You should learn how to knit! Then you could do tutorials on how to knit things. I think you would be very good at it!

  67. The fishing outfit is darling, lots of cute clothing for AG dolls. You asked what age…when our oldest daughter was 18 mo. old we bought Samantha like-new from a friend and saved her until our daughters 6th birthday. She was so excited and by then we also had a 4 year old daughter, looking on with envy.

  68. I have 4 boys and 1 girl. She just got her very first American Girl Doll for her 10th birthday. I love my boys, but I sure am grateful for my fun, sweet girl! 78. As per age for dolls: don’t wait TOO long! My parents finally got me Kirsten after I begged for it a few Christmases in a row, but I was 8 then and they always said they wished they’d gotten for me just a bit earlier as I was just starting to grow out of my doll obsession (don’t worry, I still played with and dressed up that doll into middle school:) so they got my sister Felicity when she was a little younger, 1st grade I think. With American Girls, the worst thing that can really happen is that their hair gets all messed up, so I guess you just have to decide how much that matters to you. It’s not like a Madam Alexander or a china doll, it’s meant to be played with!
