Vintage May series!

Do you all know Kristin, from Skirt as Top? Well let me tell you how we met. She was on the last season of Project Run and Play, and I absolutely loved her Junebug dress remix, so I emailed her and told her so. We pretty much hit it off and have been emailing constantly ever since! (we almost were able to meet up last month when she flew out to San Francisco, but I was at SNAP…oh well, someday!) We bonded over sewing, The Hunger Games, and blogging. I had been wanting to put together a sewing series and so I asked Kristin if she wanted to join in-and that’s where Vintage May was born! We are both enamored with vintage clothing, especially for children…the lovely details, cute fabrics, and precious little ones in them of course, are irresistible! The photo below, I believe, is hard evidence to that fact.

We are focusing the series on children’s clothing, vintage-inspired: a vintage pattern remix, refashion of a vintage item, sewing a modern pattern with vintage fabric….so there should be lots of gorgeous eye candy in the weeks to come!  Our goal is to get ideas and inspiration out there to let everyone know how wonderful sewing vintage can be.

We also started a Vintage May Flickr group for anyone that wants to share their vintage-y sewing inspiration.  We’d love for you all to join and add your past vintage/retro/vintage fabric projects to it now, if you’d like!

We will each have a guest blogger on our own blogs every day of the series, (and links to each other’s blogs to make it easy for you to see the vintage goodness, of course!) and seriously, these are some rock star sewing gals. I cannot wait!

My fabulous guests include:
 I know, right? 😉
Check out Kristin’s guests here!
