KCWC-little tie top

So I made this #fast and #easy (Can I tell you a secret? I may or may not know what the whole hashtag thing is all about….heavy on the may not) little top for Sadie from a thrifted tee. I love using those-it’s already hemmed so it makes it so fast to refashion into a new top. I added a little tie at the collar-it turned out pretty cute I think! The only bummer is this little gal only wants to wear dresses and skirts.

 All. the. live. long. day.

Which is mostly fine, I just love making tops since they’re so quick. Best case scenario: Charlotte will still get to wear them, right? Unless she starts having an opinion on what she wears….yikesabee.

Hey, just in case you missed the Olay review-the giveaway is still open!

  2. That shirt is so cute! You always make me wish I had a little girl to sew for, but this time I think I could even make this for a little boy…without the bow. Did you use a pattern?

  3. Oh my gracious I’m so relieved. I thought I was the only one who was completely confounded by those hashmarks but have been too embarrassed to say anything. I always assumed they had something to do with twitter, but now I see them on fb, so I think maybe they’re just for emphasis since you can’t italicize? I’m probably making all of this up. (this is adrianna, obviously. Susan would know what those hashmarks are for)

ps: #adorable shirt. you had me at knit stripes 🙂

  4. maravilhosa

  5. OMG, I just love that top! I have another one here too who only wants dresses and skirts.

  6. so cute jess, my girls are in the opposite phase now, only shirts and leggings – no dresses. funny how they all are!

  7. My daughter is just like Sadie. She only wears dresses and occasionally skirts. So I basically just sew dresses. Which is fine with me, I love to sew them! 🙂

  8. It gets so much harder once they develop an opinion about their clothing! Gah!

This top is totally adorable. I have a couple like this that I wear to work all the time. Of course, it would be adorable paired with a skirt, as well …

  9. Ooh, I love it. The tie is perfect, so so cute.

Janey seems to be moving past *just* skirts and dresses… so there’s hope. 🙂

  10. love this shirt! not sure i have the patience to use my sewing machine though…
