works in progress…

Hey, all! How was your weekend? Mine was busy and fun!

I thought I’d show you some of my works in progress right now. (of course there are a million-point-five projects on the eventual to-do list, but we’ll see which ones get done, eh?)

The other day, Sadie and I walked down to a garage sale down the street from our house, and I found this fantastic little chair for her room! (which I’m supposed to be finishing a quilt for her twin bed…someday I will….) anyways, the lady in charge gave it to me for 50 cents. Yeap.

I was leaping for joy! (internally of course…she IS my neighbor after all. didn’t want to freak her out)

It’s currently in need of a few more coats of red spray paint and some roughing up around the edges, and then it’ll be ready for Sadie-she can’t wait. She tells me at least 2 times a day how much she loves her new chair and can I finish painting it please?

Next is a zig zag chevron (sounds so much more grown up/sophisticated) quilt for my living room! love it! Of course, using my Go Baby (affiliate link) for the triangles.

It’s so easy to do, but I will be adding more colors in, since 1 yard of this blue fabric didn’t get me far…

And…something Rory was helping me with on Saturday. (Have I mentioned how awesome and sweet he is to give up his afternoon to help me? He is.)

Can you guess what it is going to be?

I do have a stack of projects that need photographing….I finished my Christmas quilt, 2 tops, a cardigan, and am supposed to be making some Minnie Mouse dresses for the girls. (we’re taking a Disneyland trip soon!! yay!)
What have you been up to?

Comments

  1. A toddler bed? Whatever it is, it looks great and so does the quilt!

  2. I’m guessing bookshelf. I love the color of your chevron quilt pieces, and score on the little chair!

  3. A plate rack? or an outdoor seat? I know, worlds apart! I have been packing to move, ugh! Looking forward to some sewing soon & seeing your Christmas projects.

  4. I think I can guess….but only because I follow you on Pinterest. I guess it is that awesome Sandpit/seat? Do I win a prize?! lol

  5. Gotta love those garage sales! Heck, you can’t even buy a candy bar for 50 cents anymore! Great score on that little cutie.

I also love the chevron quilt! The color and contrast is striking.

I’m going to guess that your wooden project is a ribbon rack. Am I close!?

What have I been up to (besides stalking your blog, lol)? I just finished cleaning and rearranging my sewing/craft room yesterday. With all the clothing that I have been making from your tut’s it had become a disaster zone. Even the dogs didn’t want to go in there (now that’s pretty bad!).

As far as sewing projects, I have started the sprocket pillow from the Cluck Cluck Sew website. I thought the flower pillow you made from her site was so cute and creative!

  6. jess, come on! you are too amazing. do you ever sleep? I bet you sew in your sleep. ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. I think it maybe looks like some sort of quilt rack or something.

And I was wondering what you were going to do with all your half square triangles, the chevron quilt will be awesome. I’m excited to see it come together. ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. I seem to be in a “finish that dang project” mode lately. I need to finish a sproket pillow for my sister in law, and 3 doll diaper sets a friend ordered for Christmas gifts. I’d love to get these out of my way so that I can move on to Halloween costumes and then CHRISTMAS!!!! Can’t wait to sew up a load of flannel pjs for the kids. I think I’ll make them each a hobby horse too, seeing as they keep stealing my mop. ๐Ÿ™‚ Oh, and I’m guessing that project is a super cool book shelf where the books face forward.

  9. tons of little projects here! finishing up making a spinach can crinkle softy for my baby (he’s going to be Swee’ Pea for Halloween) and going to post the tut on my blog within a few days.

sewing lots of cloth diapers next!

  10. That’s such a cute chair! I’m looking forward to seeing it finished… and I bet I’ll covet it even more then. ๐Ÿ˜€

  11. Whoa! You are one busy lady!!

  12. Oooh I can’t wait to see the finished projects! Hope you’ll show pictures when they’re done. : )

  13. Oooooh! THANKYOU! I’ve just done up a heap of triangle quilt squares for my nephew to be’s quilt and wasn’t sure what pattern to do with them. I’ve been playing around with them for a few days but now… the chevron quilt it is!! It looks awesome!!! So thanks =)=)
