:(

So, if you haven’t heard yet, I was the first to go on Project Run and Play. ๐Ÿ™ I’m bummed, but it was so much fun! I loved the themes, and like I’ve said, I’ll continue to do projects based on them!ย
At least my weekends will be less stressful now-haha!
So I figured, why not share this next week’s project?
Here is my outfit for the Leila and Ben Sweet Dress challenge.

I’ll put up a tutorial for the WW headband, and this peasant dress this week.ย
Thanks in advance for all your kind, gushing , supportive comments. ๐Ÿ˜‰ haha (my sewing ego is bruised)ย
Love ya!
Post Edit: Sorry I forgot to mention where I got the gorgeous fabric! I got it here and here, from my lovely new sponsor, The Scarlet Poppe. (awesome name, right?) The blue I got at my local Joann’s, don’t know the brand, sorry! ๐Ÿ™‚ย

Thanks for all the love, guys, I feel better already!

    Just Another Day in Paradise

  4. Your dress was fantastic! I’m thinking it would make a great b-day dress for the little “princess” this spring! She loved it the moment she saw it, but that usually the case with your site. I have to be careful and sneak on when she is distracted or I will get the demanding “make it now” speech.

  5. I hadn’t heard and I’m shocked. I love that dress you made! It might be one of my favorites of your creations. I also love the fun springy colors of this dress.

  6. awww, to bad ): When I saw your title “):” and then that adorable picture with those adorable clothes and that adorable headband I was thinking “What could possibly be ): with adorableness like this attached??” Sorry to hear that you were booted! The competition was fierce, I nearly had a nervous breakdown just trying to decide who to vote for, I can’t imagine how nerve-racking competing must feel!

  7. I can’t believe you were the first to go! ๐Ÿ™

    Love you to!

  25. Oh man!!!
I’m sorry you got kicked off. I hadn’t heard and I really can’t believe it.

I know how you feel about the stress, though…. I’m doing SYTYC this season and it is FUN, but very stressful.

I LOVE your little dress this week. How adorable!!!

  26. Adorable. Sadie looks like she really loves her new dress. I loved your last submission, and definitely didn’t think that you should have been the first to go.

I’m excited to see all of your upcoming projects.

  27. so stinkin cute! can’t wait for the tutorial.

  28. Reeealllyy? I voted for you because you were my honest favorite. Simple but really pretty, and something I would honestly put a little girl in that would be feminine without being over the top ruffly. I has a sad ๐Ÿ™

  29. Sorry to hear you were the first to go! If I were to dress my daughter in one of the outfits in the running, it would definitely have been yours.

I must say, though — HOORAY for no more stress! :oD :oD

  30. Well, I totally voted for you! ๐Ÿ™‚

I myself am just not up for the craft blog competitions. There always seems to be somebody out there with more time and resources to put into it. And it can be so stressful! Anyway, I’m sad you didn’t get to keep going, but happy for you that your life is a little less stressful now.

    Happy Monday! ๐Ÿ™‚

  31. P.S. Might I also add?

Way to go making a modest outfit.

  32. I’m really surprised, Jess. I loved your winter dress. I can’t believe that your Sweet Little Dress won’t be competing because it is phenomenal! I love the pairing of the fabrics… genius.

  33. Your dress was adorable. Super sweet, and it looked so nice. I have a couple of little girls about your kiddo’s age that would love some like it. Are you going to put up any tutorials for any of your stuff? (Please, Please, Pretty Please?)
    Love your stuff!

  34. Bummer! ๐Ÿ™ Would love a tute on the dress, TOO CUTE!

  35. I’m so bummed! I love your style, so I am excited to see all your kid stuff. This peasant dress is adorable, as is your model!

  36. Totally just had a bi-polar reaction: WHAT? She’s done?!?!! (sad sad sad), but WAIT, she promised she’d still show us what she was going to make if she got the boot! (happy happy happy)

I must say though, I’m taking a huge sigh of relief for you – that’s coming from someone who no way in a gazillion years would dream of competing in something like that and is completely in awe of those who do.

So, to sum up: congrats to you for being awesome/not having to compete anymore! Can’t wait to see the rest of your stuff!

  37. I got a little mad when I saw you didn’t make it because I LOVED yours! Plus I think you are so super talented!! You definitely deserved to go on in the competition!

    Keep making beautiful things!!

  38. I love both of your dresses. I think yours was the most wearable and real life, which should count for something. You should be proud, you went up against the best in the business. I know it hurts, but I also hope you are feeling some relief.

  39. I am so sorry you were eliminated!

This dress is absolutely adorable, and I cannot wait for the tutorial! Thank you so much for being so generous with your talent and hard work. It benefits all of us!

  40. I’m sorry Jess!! I’m so surprised you got the boot, I LOVED your dress! I think you got screwed, personally.
I love this peasant dress! It’s fantastic, I can’t wait for the tutorial!! Even though I’ll probably attempt it and butcher it! I’ll try anyway!
    *loves*

  41. Oh man, what a gyp! I loved that dress, and the one you showed today was fantastic! Oh well, forget it and move on to something else. With your talent, something new and exciting is just around the corner!

  42. I’m so sorry you got eliminated and I don’t think that’s fair at all! I hope you can find comfort in kissing those sweet girls of yours and be happy that now you have more time for them. And keep up the sewing and blogging. I love your creations and find you very inspiring!
    /Katrin

  43. This dress is so cute!

  44. To bad you didn’t make it to the next round. Sadie looked soooo cute in her winter-wonderland dress.

On the bright side (for us) now you can give the sew-along earlier ๐Ÿ˜‰ Keep up the good work (as Tim Gunn would say).

  45. Cutest dress and headband on the CUTEST girl ever! Your girls are both such dolls and Sadie makes that dress even cuter than it already is! Can’t wait for your tutorial! I may have to start on this dress for my little one, so maybe it will be done by the time she’s 2… ๐Ÿ˜€ You rock!!!

  46. I can’t imagine what the other entries look like, because your dress is adorable!!! So sorry that you’re not in the competition longer… I’d love to see more of your projects!

  47. oh I dig this dress ๐Ÿ™‚ too cute

  48. This dress is SO cute! ๐Ÿ™‚ Sorry you were already voted off!

  49. I know you don’t know me, but I voted for you! Sorry you didn’t get to submit this beauty. But it’s a great learning experience as far as what the voters are looking for – next time you’ll wipe them out!!

  50. Contests are so hard! You made beautiful dresses, as always. I know you’ll bounce back and keep doing what you love.

  51. Your dress was so cute, I am totally surprised but so happy that you will continue to make the clothes…I love your style!

  52. Jess, this dress is adorable! So cute. ๐Ÿ™‚

  53. Jess, I was so bummed to see you go – I was just starting to get to know you! I love, love your Week 2 dress. I have those fabrics and love them too (I think we might have similar taste :-). Yes, it’s definitely a relief to not have the pressure over the weekends!

You will be missed, but you are totally awesome!!

    Have a great day,
    Linds

  54. Darling dress Jessica, and the pictures are precious!
