a thrifty haul.

It’s been awhile since my last thrift store trip! I really like hitting up our Salvation Army 50% off sale every month, but I missed last month. Thrift stores are already “cheap” (some more than others), but who can say no to half off? not me. I always end up in the same sections, in the same order. First I check out their fabric/linen section, then head to the books, then the kid’s clothes, then housewares. Then if Sadie is doing ok I’ll give the other clothes a once over. Not this time, sadly. I have a big pile of stuff to refashion anyways…

I made out like a bandit with the books this time! I got 14 of them for 55 cents each. Not too shabby for Jess! I won’t buy books that have been drawn in or that are falling apart at the binding. (Unless they are the vintage Disney ones…I LOVE those!) These were all in super shape! Except for the A is for apple you can see peeking out on the top row, second from the left….more on that one later..

I found some super cute vintage linens! A few pillowcases, and one blue flowered sheet. I am planning on making that pink one on the right into a skirt…I think it will look adorable!

It’s funny, cause I was just whining about how I don’t find any good vintage sheets out here in Cali. It’s true, this is the best I’ve found-ever. So I guess I should say that before I go thrifting each time, huh?

I also found this cute Carter’s sweatshirt for the baby for 90 cents, and a tank for Sadie for 75 cents. (which is more of a coral, not screaming red as the picture looks…)

Here’s that alphabet book…a bit damaged, but I loved the illustrations..so check back soon to see what I did with this….

oh yeah. My total was $12.10…woohoo!

  1. Ooh. I love those vintage linens you found. I haven’t been so lucky yet. Although I did get a bag of at least 50 zippers for $3.99 last time I went, so I guess that’s not too shabby. And I love the illustrations in that little book tool. I’m excited to see what you did with it. ๐Ÿ™‚ Enjoy Conference and have a great Saturday!
