why my mom rocks

i called my mom yesterday, griping and moaning about sadie’s christmas dress.

my “practice dress” was….let’s just say, i’m not going to be showing that one off. i was inspired by this dress and these dresses, but didn’t have a pattern or idea of how to make it.

mom to the rescue! she MADE me a pattern last night. yes, MADE!

while she baby sat sadie! well, she was asleep for part of it. (company christmas dinner for rory and i)

so here’s the fabric. can’t wait! hope i don’t royally mess up. at least i know a good seamstress nearby who knows exactly how it’s supposed to go together. 😀

  1. My mom amazes me that way, too. She can cut out pretty much anything using virtually no pattern at all! And do all sorts of fancy additional details without specific patterns or guidance. She inspires me! Here’s to moms who taught their kids how to sew =)

  2. Oh my goodness, those dresses are darling! Love them and I can see why you want to make something along those lines! Good luck…can’t wait to see the finished product!

  3. Oh that is going to be sooo cute hang in there and you will end up with what you invision even if it is not exactly the same as the idea dresses:)

  4. I can’t wait to see the finished product on that super cute daughter of yours. Your mom is so talented! You are blessed to live nearby.

  5. LOVE the fabric!
