cutie in a new dress

*happy dance!* i made a dress for sadie! and it fits! and i didn’t say bad words in my head while making it! and it’s not hemmed yet!

ok, i could pretty much use yesterday’s post, with “dress” inserted instead of “skirt”. again, i went to this woman for the tutorial. she is amazing!

it seriously took maybe 1/2 an hour…it IS un hemmed, but oh well. i also need to adjust the sleeves-straps? but otherwise it’s done and done. i picked up this skirt (which of course i didn’t get a before shot of, basically just an a-line skirt too small for me), at goodwill awhile ago for a couple bucks. LOVED the pattern. i knew i could do something with it!

i made her cute hairclip by cutting circles from the leftover fabric and folding them into quarters, and kind of sewing them into a blob. wow, those instructions were clear. but really, that’s it.

playing shy. i learned a trick to get her to stand up in her dress. I helped her stand in front of the wall, leaning against it. that way she had something to prop herself up with. otherwise she bores quickly with standing and takes off for the nearest toy.
