A monumental event
My first scrapbooking page of Sadie! Also my first in over 7 months. If any of you know how much I USED to scrap, you know that's very very strange. Pregnancy stole my scrapping mojo, that's all I have to say. I got together with some gals yesterday, Kim and Aimee, and we scrapped yesterday. Or, tried. We talked a lot more than scrapped. They have little ones too, and the babies had so much fun together. Mostly looking and cooing at each other, Sadie didn't really know what was going on though. haha. We got pics, but not on my camera...sooo later! Anyways, it's not much, but here's the page I did.

New furniture! and cute baby
Today Sadie was Ms. Cranky Pants all morning long! She was up at 5 o' clock because of numerous long naps yesterday...soo, Mommy was up at 5 as well. Fun times! I watched some TV and we chilled out on the couch til Daddy woke up to go help clean the church. While he was gone we had a bright moment on the changing table when she laughed a little! She only did it once and wouldn't do it again....but super cute nonetheless.
Then Daddy came home and we got ready for the day and tried to watch Survivor. (Ms. Cranky Pants has a set of lungs!) We went out to lunch with our friends Morgen and Teresa at Black Bear Diner. YUM! Good food, and it was way fun to catch up and talk about pregnancy and babies. Then I set off for Goodwill with my sidekick (aka Janae). They were having a 50% off everything in the store sale and I wanted to check out the furniture, because our front room and entry are pretty bare. I was super lucky and scored some awesome pieces!

This buffet thingy was only $40 on sale! sweet! just needs it's hardware fixed and some cleaning. It has a ton of storage space inside for...whatever!

artsy stuff and babbling. (Sadie, not me. well, sometimes I babble)
This little wall decoration is something I started a long time ago, before we moved, and just finally finished up! I got the idea from a scrapbooking magazine and took my own spin on it. I used chipboard letters that I had lying around, spray painted them, and then stuck them to some paper in a frame I got on sale! I haven't cleaned off the goop from the price tag yet, that's the whiteish blob on the bottom left. hehe.
Here is a cute and funny conversation we had the other day. She was very adamant about something...I'm just not sure what. Until the end of the video. lol.

I love Fall!
Walks and daddy
Today we went for a walk to my parents house, about a 2 mile round trip. It is a nice walk, but was pretty hot on the way back! Oh well. She was nice and shady inside her cocoon. Mommy was the one sweating! lol. I went walking with a friend from the ward and her baby yesterday...I have the scars to prove it! I haven't worn my Nikes in awhile. ouch. We are going to make it a twice weekly thing. Also yesterday my Grandma took me to lunch at OD's, a yummylicious little cafe in downtown Gilroy. I had an awesome omelet and home fries. I wanted to take a picture of it, but I had already eaten half of it by the time I remembered. haha!

More pictures....and other stuff
So after careful consideration and analysis of the poll, we decided to go against popular vote and NOT dress our child as a lobster for Halloween. It would have been funny, yes. Sorry to whoever voted for that. lol. We decided....drumroll....on the Hershey's kiss costume. She'll be adorable I think!
Sooo....that FB friday picture was of.....me! I thought it looked a bit like Sadie. It will be fun as she grows up, to see which of her features come from Rory or from me. I think it just takes awhile to tell. She had on a really cute dress today for church, so I just HAD to take some pictures.

There we go! Is she not the cutest?
In other news, Rory got a calling for church, he will be the Varsity Scout coach, and the first counselor in the Young Men's presidency here in Gilroy. The bishop hinted that I would have a calling soon too. Please, something reasonably easy! hehe. I also have been addressing and putting together Sadie's birth announcements, they're soo cute! I will post a pic of them once they're out in the mail. We had some friends we knew from Utah that are living out in Modesto, Jessi and James, come visit today while they were down here in Gilroy. It was fun to catch up, and they got to see our house, and Sadie of course. Lindsey, we decided we all have to get together for dinner somewhere in the middle of all of us sometime. Ok? Ok. hehe. I'm also working on getting my crafty room set up again so that I can get sewing again for my shop in my free time. haha. what's that? Also...we are excited for a trip we are taking next month to Disneyland!
We are going for the Phoenix DeVentures company picnic, it's become somewhat of a tradition, since this is the third time we have gone, I believe. It may be interesting with a 2 month old, we'll just take it slow and enjoy the time there. I love the ambiance of Disneyland as much as the rides. I've gotta go on Indiana Jones though. Last time it broke down right before me and Cassy were going to go on it. (remember? that stunk.) lol. Sadie even has a special Minnie Mouse onesie to wear that Aunt NaeNae and Nana got her when they went earlier this year. It's so crazy how fast this year has flown by! Soon it will be Halloween, then Thanksgiving (and my birthday, woot woot), then before you know it, we'll be singing Christmas carols and eating candy canes. I'm so excited for Sadie's first Christmas. I know she won't really know what's going on, but it will be fun nonetheless. :-D
Anyways, Rory is waiting for me...we're gonna watch a movie and eat the peanut butter brownies he made. YUM!

Home Sweet Home (but with pictures)
Our house now feels more like a home! After almost two months of sitting in a corner in the living room, our pictures finally found homes on our walls. It was feeling a bit bare, and driving me crazy! So I force-I mean, asked Rory to help me hang them up. He did a great job at eyeballing it. We have more plans for the living room, like curtains and plants and possibly a slipcover, oh yeah and maybe some color! It's kind of....brown and tan right now. Neutral, but a bit blah. lol. I'm working on it! Anyways, so while Sadie was sleeping today I decided to tackle my other wall project-hanging up some decorative plates in the kitchen/breakfast nook. I blogged a bit about it here. Here's the final product-I think it looks pretty cool! What do you think?

One Month Old!
I can't believe Sadie is already a month old...time flies when you're:
*changing diapers
*nursing every 2 hours
*holding baby all day (feels like it at least)
*bouncing baby all day
*trying to sleep in spurts
*wiping up spit
*watching a tiny baby spew farther than you thought possible
*dragging a car seat everywhere
*changing cute little outfits
*doing A LOT of laundry
and loving (almost) every minute of it!
Last night she slept for 6 hours straight! I, unfortunately, couldn't enjoy it because I was too busy waking up every hour wondering why she wasn't crying to be fed! lol. Ah the sorrows of the mommy. hehe. It's so fun to see Rory with her, he's such a great daddy! They had fun cuddling on the couch a lot this weekend. (mostly so mommy could get some stuff done around the house) Namely, pictures got hung! I will post about that later though. Maybe tomorrow.

Halloween costumes
Does anyone else plan their costumes WAY in advance? I am guilty of that. I just love dressing up! This year is *ahem* a bit more busy than usual, but I also get a little person to dress up too! lol. I like dressing up in themes (Rory and I were Fred and Daphne from Scooby Doo the first Halloween we were married, and Hannah Montana and her #1 fan last year, see here), but Rory hates dressing up in more than a Tshirt. So....my options are limited. I was looking for costumes for Sadie, and I happened upon this cutie! I thought we could go as a candy family. Rory can wear a Reese's shirt or something. Whatever.
Although I'm not sure she would like her feet being captive. Am I on a candy kick? Maybe. I just think she's so *sweet* haha. Of course, there are some costumes that are just plain cruel.

And this one's for Joanna. hehehe.
Let me know what you think about the candy costumes! Or any other ideas for costumes!

FB Friday: Graduations!
We moved out to Utah to go to school in the middle of '04 and ended up there for 3 years. Rory went to UVSC (Utah Valley State College) and I went to UCMT (Utah College of Massage Therapy), and after 3 years out there slaving away without a break, Rory graduated in April of '07. I graduated in '05 after a year of night school every night and Saturdays too. It was a crazy schedule but I got a massage almost every night. Rough, I know. haha.

wowsas
Phew today has been a little hectic. This morning I was trying to get some cleaning done while Sadie was sleeping. I actually got all the floors swept at least, just not mopped. A load in the dishwasher too! Then, threw some laundry in the washer and fed her...we then went to the post office and grocery store, where she promptly threw up all over herself, which leaked through her car seat and down the side of the diaper bag, and the cart itself. Oops! Then we got home, I put the groceries away and made myself some lunch which I ate very quickly cause SOMEONE was fussy. I'm not naming names though. haha. Fed her again, and decided to watch a movie. Put on The Queen (which is pretty good so far), and she napped a little bit, until she started whining, changed her diaper and decided to switch the laundry and fold it, she started crying when I was almost done....I was singing to her....didn't work. I knew she wasn't hungry since she had just eaten...I finished up, and lo and behold....she had fallen asleep! Her first time crying herself to sleep. Usually she works herself up so much that there's no way she's falling asleep. I thought about mopping the floors, but then gave up and decided to eat the rest of my bag of chocolate raisins while blogging. Much better choice.
Good thing she's cute like this sometimes!

I think I'm getting the hang of this mom thing...
Slowly but surely I am starting to feel like a mom. She's a lot of work, but worth it...so far. hehe. We'll see what I say when she's a teenager. Luckily that is a looong time away. I can't believe she's almost a month old! Time does fly so fast. She's already out of that newborn stage when they're all tiny and super fragile. She's very alert when she's awake, and holds her head up almost by herself now. Of course she likes to babble. She likes to let us know (loudly) when her diaper is wet, but doesn't seem to mind when it's...well, the other one. lol. She likes Primary songs, particularly Love One Another, and she likes Fur Elise. That's my Beethoven fan! hehe. She likes taking walks and car rides, just not right after she eats. She doesn't mind being changed, thank goodness, and isn't a huge fan of baths, but I love how yummy she smells afterwards. She loves her Daddy, (of course) and even wore a onesie proudly proclaiming that today...until she pooped on it. hehe. I'm sure it's nothing personal, Rory. I'm loving being a mom! (ask me that again at about 2:30 in the morning, though, and I may have a different answer)

Ignore the frazzled hair and circles under my eyes. lol.

Sadie likes to babble...
...and it's the cutest thing ever! I caught some on tape today. She is happiest on her changing table, that's why most of her pictures and videos are there. haha! Who would've thunk it? She doesn't mind being changed either. She hates tummy time though. She whines and cries. lol. You'd think I was torturing her or something! Anyways: for your viewing pleasure, Sadie talking.

Flashback Friday Trip Edition
This flashback friday is gonna have a lot of photos...they're from our trip to Santa Barbara last year. We took a few days and went to Hearst Castle, the Santa Barbara Zoo, and stayed at a cute bed and breakfast a few blocks from the beach. The weather was perfect and it was great to get away and spend some fun time together!

Look at this view! On the other side of the park you could see the ocean!
